This $20 upgrade terminology seems odd to me. Why would they accept handwritten or altered documents and not a photocopy of an original??? Am I missing something here???

I checked through my Mcafee upgrade rebate pdfs for the past several months and they all have those same two sentences.
EDIT:
I had to check my offline documents but it appears that sometime between 2007 and 2009 the wording of that sentence changed from:
"Handwritten or altered documents will not be accepted."
to:
"Handwritten or altered documents will be accepted."

Just remember to cancel the auto renewal a day later.Have you heard about ink cart recycling and OD's purchase requirement?

The good news is that it just takes a phone call to have the rebate validated -- explain that a copy of a competitor's CD was included and that such is a listed proof.

But I am not sure if the McAfee rebate says it will take a photocopy or if it still wants the original. I know the Webroot rebates do not take photocopies, and they are all processed by Parago.

I should have been more clear that my point was about Parago and Mcafee upgrade rebates.
Office Depot is giving out free water today with $100 purchase. It is on its homepage.

Why are the links to the rebate forms not working for me?

Also, there is someone selling this on Amazon for only $2 plus $3.99 shipping! Is it a scam? Does it make sense to be sold so cheap? Here's a link. http://www.Amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B002GUUO5I/ref=dp_olp_new?ie=UTF8&qid=1259113702&sr=1-1&condition=new
Then use the "Find A Mail-in Savings Form" >> "Product SKU search":
- McAfee 2010 Total Protection 3-User -- 538407
- McAfee 2010 Internet Security 1 -- 538254
Make sure to select the rebates for the purchase time frame.

Thank you very much. Due to your links, I now realize that Mcafee 2010 Total Protection 3-User is actually free after only one rebate. No need to send in proof of upgrade. Thanks again!

Thanks again! When did you purchase it? If between 11/8 and 11/21, there are two rebates ($60 and $20). If between 11/22 and 11/28, there is one $80 rebate.

I just read this on the rebate form:
"Rebate amount paid to customer for single or combined rebate offers may not exceed the purchase price of the McAfee product."
The item costs $79.99 which is one cent less than the $80 rebate. Will this disqualify my rebate? (I already bought it).
