DROID by Motorola $119.99 after instant discount from Overstock.com. No rebates. No sales tax. Droid Eris by HTC is $19.99 for new accounts 4 Day Sale Ends midnight Monday 11/16 New 2-year Verizon Wireless agreement and email/web plan required
$10 cheaper than the Wirefly F&F deal (which is still a better deal for upgrades).
Order now & get activated by Saturday to avoid Verizon's Early Termination Fee increase which goes into effect for new accounts on Sunday (thanks joefresco). We all hope to avoid ETF but it's nice to know if you cancelled it would be $175 instead of the new sliding scale starting at $350. Note when you buy through Overstock (like other agent dealers), you agree to pay an additional $300 if you terminate within the first 6 months.
Please hold the questions about whether you can sign up then cancel the contract or switch to your current account. All that stuff triggers a $300 fee. See the half-dozen other DROID threads for that discussion.
@treasury be careful your link contains a Beverly Hills zip code.
What if my contract has run out and I am elegable to resign a new 2-year family plan linked contract? Will that work?I think it will only work if you use a different SSN.
just looking through the family plans, is a 60 dollar activation fee normal or is overstock gouging to recoup selling cost?Yes, $30 per line, unless there's a waived activation promotion going on, which unfortunately there isn't
I got in on the deal. Best Buy pricematched Overstock.com. It was kind of funny when the lady said... "Ok, I just have to make sure it isn't a web-only deal," and then she looked at the printout and approved the pricematch. I wonder where Overstock.com's physical store is. (But I was quite ok with it. )
It looks like the Wirefly F&F Droid deal is the best deal for current Verizon customers at $129.99 and free shipping. This deal was $30 better last weekend but still the best deal out there for the Droid. I got the device last week and it is awesome.

Is this Overstock.com? I can't find the droid anywhere on Overstock.com and this links to cellstores.com and simplexity or something.
EDIT: I found how you can get to this from Overstock.com main page, so at least that part is legit.
Price is up to $150, now. I placed my order yesterday, they had me call to verify the number to port an hour or so later. Today they send me an email "Although you were approved for service with Verizon Wireless as requested, you are currently not eligible to transfer your existing phone number to Verizon Wireless. WE NEED YOUR DECISION BEFORE WE CAN SHIP YOUR PHONE.". When I call, they don't actually ask for any information or prompt me to make a decision, they just tell me that the processing is going to take 48 business hours (not sure what 48 business hours are - is that 6 business days, or just two?)
