PC users just go ahead and pass on this. Activision has very blantanly said "your money is not wanted" with the removal of dedicated servers. No worthwhile multiplayer.....

Just note that the $20 credit can only be used towards another video game and expires 2/28/09. I used mine to preorder Gran Turismo 5
If you are interested in this game, be advised that Amazon is removing negative reviews and leaving only positive ones. Last night it had 1.5 stars out of 5, today, 4 out of 5.
Since you can no longer trust Amazon to be impartial, do some independent research about the (many) downsides of this game prior to making a purchase.

That is not so true. Depending on which version you got. If you click the PC version, it is still 1.5 out of 5. Amazon won't pull something like that to risk their reputations.

Received mine today and the package felt light - game was stolen and package resealed.
Didn't know Amazon was still shipping to Detroit...weird.
Well, luckily I don't live in a bad area, otherwise I would get a PO Box.
Whoever did steal it works for the Post Office, as the other box in my mail today which also looks like a dvd/game shipment box was not touched.

I for one am an avid PC Gamer and was leary of the no dedicated servers, but I have played the game for the last couple of days and multiplayer is still fun, even if I cannot select from a list of servers. Overall very fun game with good graphics. My Opinion of course.
Let me also say that I am dissapointed that it appears to be designed for console and ported for PC, missing many of the things that I enjoyed about COD4 MW and all other well done PC Games... but since I shelled out the cash I will play and see exactly how long my friends and I keep coming back to play. If nothing else, I still have COD4 installed and play it frequently.

eventually that "person" will get caught... karma is a bi-atch.
Game doesn't play nice with Windows 7. I'm running 64 bit ultimate and can't get the first level to load without crashing. Even at the safe mode settings. Tried all the tricks listed on the game FAQ online with no luck. It doesn't seem to be just me either.
huanjf said: Don't Amazon use UPS to ship packages? All of mine were shipped by UPS. Is that because of the Prime account I have? I think it depends entirely on shipping speed, where it's being shipped from and where it's being shipped to. I almost always do super saver shipping but depending on which warehouse it's being shipped from I've received it by USPS or UPS.

Received mine today and the package felt light - game was stolen and package resealed. someone also attempted to steal my Uncharted 2. the package was ripped open. maybe the thief was looking for MW2's lol

222 1* reviews right now for PC version. I actually was going to buy but seeing all of those reviews saved me $500+. I was going to upgrade my pc seeing all the hype for the game. I haven't gamed in 4+ years. First time I heard of this game was 1 week ago because it was on the front page of MSN.com. Guess all the hype was for the console versions

Guess all the hype was for the console versions You were going to spend $500+ on a game you've only heard about a week ago? Right. All those 1* reviews are from PC gamers who haven't even played the game who're whining about Infinity Ward's decision about dedicated servers. It's getting really obnoxious and old.
Yep, roughly $500 because I need to upgrade my PC. I haven't gamed in a while and wanted to get back into it. I need a new MB/cpu, video card, mouse and $60 for the game.
My Amazon MW2 PC pre-order shipped 11/8/2009. It arrived at my local post office 11/13/2009, and will be delivered 11/14/2009. Gah.
The deluge of games that are clearly designed for console and ported to PC with the clunky interfaces intact irk me greatly. The decision to remove dedicated servers is annoying, but not game breaking. I've been playing the 360 version while I wait for the PC version to arrive, and I can honestly say, having multiplayer "just work" is great. No having to deal with port forwarding like the Borderlands fiasco.
Is there some paradox where buying a video game instead of downloading it means you've grown up, but really, you're still buying a video game, so how grown up is that.
