Dam fatwallet, building a rig for the GF for Christmas and this is almost to good to pass up. Might have to pass along my 2 year old Samsung 22" and keep this for myself

Could you please explain this.

1900x1200 is a "standard" computer resolution. 1900x1080 is a the standard 1080i/p standard for TV and movies. You're loosing some screen real estate and some older games might not be cool with 1900x1080.
I am disappointed that it's a 1080p monitor but it doesn't have connections for HDMI. There are HDMI -> DVI cables but it would be nice to just use a HDMI cable for a PS3 or Xbox 360.
Yes, would be a better deal if there was a HDMI input, though probably not a big deal for most users.
You're not going to find a 24" 1920x1200 in this price range, they're typically more than double this price from what I've seen. Looks like most new monitors are going 1920x1080. I guess from a marketing perspective, they can advertise a 24" which basically has the same height as a standard 1680x1050 22" monitor, though it is wider by about an inch. Of course they tell you that it's formatted for 1080P which works perfectly for watching high def movies, but I'm not buying a monitor to watch movies.
