is this a real hot deal on $520 laptop, i'm looking for a laptop in this range. Does it have hdmi? Any reason I shouldn't pull the trigger ( better deals coming soon?) don't know much bout laptops but would like the best one possible for $500 range
If you intend to play games on a laptop, you can't do better for this price (more serious games should definitely select the video card upgrade option to the 240M).
If you're looking just to web surf and word process, you could probably save some dough looking for laptop bargains that have integrated graphics.
Either way, this is an incredible deal for the specs, and a second chance for those who missed out on the coupon earlier in the week. Nice find, OP!

can someone confirm the hdmi? i'll pull the trigger, but it doesn't confirm it in the specs
My son was looking to buy a new laptop and he asked me to keep an eye out for a good deal.
We just missed out a few days ago when the same deal was available. I've been watching closely since then for anything in his price range and hadn't found a better configuration. So, we were ready to jump on this and I'm glad I saw it early enough.
$888 Base Config +110 P8700 + 50 GT240m - 20 Palmrest Color - 40 320GB -289 Coupon ---- $699
Nice powerful system for $699 plus tax.

Y550s have HDMI... I would guess that was universal and that no model would be missing it. I replicated the config I got on 10/27, and the price was exactly the same. Do they still have free shipping? Anyway, if you want a solid all-around laptop that can handle multi-media and gaming, then this is the best deal out right now in my opinion. Only real minuses are hard drive speed and resolution, but I am fine with both as a trade for the price.

Just ordered one and paid with my discover card. How do I get the 5% back? If not, can I switch the payment back to penfed?

For me the coupon is not working? Can you explain me from where and how you used the COUPON USPY550DEAL ? I entered spaces and also tried using fatwallet config link?
So much for the Email alert from Fatwallet. For some reason I only received alerts for other models, but not this one, although my alert was set for Lenovo. This was the deal I was looking for. Anyone know why the alert did not work?

I've noticed recently, that my alerts are lagging way behind.

Damm for some reasons I had to resubmit my order 5 times because it gave me an error that the order did not go through and asked me to check my order and try again. However, now I got 5 confirmations from Lenovo for 5 laptops. I guess I need to call them to cancel 4 of those orders.
Not to threadcrap, the battery in my 2-year old 3000 N100 (from a previous FW deal) went bad about a year ago. I almost never run it on battery alone but when I do, it lasts about 15 minutes. For myself, Lenovo is a no go.

If you keep your battery plugged in the whole time it's not good for it. It's best to get it fully charged, and then unplug it from the laptop so it doesn't continually get bombarded with electricity. Of course no one really does that because it's a pain in the ass to have to plug the battery in each time you want to unplug it from the wall.
