This week, Target has the Apex 32" LCD HDTV model LD3249 for $299. True, Target will have a $246 32" Westinghouse LCD HDTV on Black Friday, but that would most likely require lining up for a long time to get. Link at Target.com. It appears to be an in-store deal only from the Target link. But if you go through Amazonitem link, you can get it shipped for $21.88. Specs on ZDnet for review.
It is good that there is no recycle fee for CA people.
Items: $299.00 Shipping & Handling: $21.88 Total Before Tax: $320.88 Estimated Tax:* $29.69 Order Total: $350.57

I picked one up this evening (was planning on getting the 22" 1080p visio Target carries), but figured for $50 more for 10 more inches would be better (I'm not planning on getting a blue ray player anytime soon).
Anyways so far I'm liking the tv. Picture on HD looks good, sounds good & you don't have to "crank it up all the way" just to hear it.
Some people were saying that on BF, 32" tv's will be $250, but I figure I'm willing to pay an extra $50 to not have to wait 8+ hrs in a line & then having to deal with a crowd and still have no guarentees that I would get one.

"I decided to try out the vga port with my laptop and was delighted to discover that when I set the resolution to 1920x1080 (1080p) it actually worked! It didn't overscan or anything! This panel is capable of displaying native 1080p, you just have to bypass it's converter by using the vga cable. "
that'd be pretty interesting if true

i grabbed one of these this morning too and not too bad for 299 + tax. my target only had 6 and there were 3 other people there getting one. it was an early xmas pres for my son and we instantly hooked it up to his xbox 360 for cod mw2 and it looks and plays great. just hope it lasts.

Of course, the reviewer never bothered explaining how you could possibly get "native 1080p" on a native 768x1366 panel. This person seems to believe that if it fits on the screen, it's "native".
Got one last night for the gf. Overall, pretty happy with it, except this morning when watching something and the audio was off just a bit and couldn't find a way to change the lyp-sinc issue, like many TVs have. Anyone know how, of it's possible with this TV?
Looks like some external speakers are appropriate for this TV. For me that makes this deal not-as-sweet but still pretty good. Let's see what I can find for a budget speaker system.
dynex sucked when i had it, i had to return.. ive had several apex dvd players that lasted 4 years to date.. of course thats diff than a tv, but i figured id mention
what is your basis for saying dynex is a lot better than the apex tv? dynex is just as a crappy name is apex is. Unless you have had both side by side and played with settings on the same hd line I don't see how you can compare. I bought an apex tv several years ago at circuit city at a great bargain price, and i was extremely happy with the tv and it still works just as well to this day. I think its been 6+ years since then (it was just a SD tv).
Better Contrast ratio 3000 to 1 dynex 1500 to 1 Apex 1 year warranty parts and labor Dynex 90 days labor 1 year parts apex. And since Dynex is the BB brand if you have problems in the first year BB will just exchange it for you. Sound quality not the best on either. Also if you have the 10 percent off coupon you can grab it for 269.99

Dynex been very good set, basic HDTV. This APEX looks like a clone set also could be made by Funai also. VISIO on their site has some crazy deals free shipping but I am sure there is tax though.
It seems like a not so great deal when you think that for 1 or 2 hundred more you can get a TV that's bigger (I realize you may not want a larger TV), better picture, more features, better brand, etc. I just can't get excited about a deal like this even at $300. Maybe it's just me.

Bought this TV today, regularly 350. So far so good, the quality is okay, but I will say it about what I expected for a $300 LCD TV. Sound quality appears fine to me, but I'm not one of those who really gets into my tv, I just like having something to watch and be able to hear it. I programmed by Directv remote to it (you must have a new remote do this, the old ones won't work), but it was kind of a pain because you have to search for the code. All in all, I'd say this was a good purchase.

I've had my LD3249 for a couple of weeks now and very pleased. I have it in our breakfast eating area and sit a few feet from it. The picture quality is equal to the 40" Sony we have in the living room. For the price of $299 at Target, a Super Buy! Being a no name I purchased the three year service agreement for $29. For three years that's $110/yr. Nothing wrong with the sound for what it is used for. Happy Camper here.
