I downloaded and set up this program this morning. The program has one of the best user interfaces I've seen. It also seems to handle all of the modern downloaded file types, i.e., H.264, MKV, etc. Thanks OP. Great find.
You cannot convert SD to HD. Crap in, crap out. Not that sd is crap, but you get my drift.

Very true, but the value of this program is taking an MKV file or MP4 file, which won't play on my DVD player or hand held device, and converting to an AVI or other format that will play. Hey, it's free and works better than the other half dozen transcoders I currently have on my computer.
