quality isnt a big deal for this price. but u DO need to put some padding on the handle if consistent work is to be done by it. remember thou, this is for light plants, for tougher jobs get an axe, or u might hurt ur arm and hand!

this is for plants?? hmmm.. not what i would use it for.
Machetes are fantastic for general pruning and brush clearing (up to, say, a thumb's thickness). I use mine on crepe myrtles, kudzu vines, and just about anything else where a saw or an axe isn't necessary. Probably the most useful cutting tool in the garage.
But I'd spend a few bucks more and find one with a rubberized/cushioned handle, if possible. I always wear leather gloves, too.
