The 3x1 HDMI mini switcher routes high definition video (in multiple resolutions up to 1080p) and digital audio from any one of the three sources to display unit. Three inputs accommodate the simultaneous connection of up to three high definition video sources, such as satellite systems and HD DVD players. The output sends the high definition audio/video signals to a high definition display. Aside from the manual switching, the switching can also done via the IR remote that is provided with the unit for added convenience. The compact design eliminates the bulk of an HDMI switcher while still having the same functionality.
Features:
No power supply needed. Switch easily between any three HDMI sources Intelligent auto switch. When one source device is turned on or plugged in, the switch will automatically select this source. 24k gold platted connector Extends the range of HDMI compliant device by equalizing and re-clocking the HDMI signal Maintains high resolution video - beautiful, sharp HDTV resolutions up to 1080p, 2k and computer resolutions up to 1920 x 1200 are easily achieved. Discrete IR remote (included) HDMI pass-through Pocket Size
Don't believe the hype! Monster is synonymous with Bose...overpriced products. Not to say that the included cables are gold-plated or triple insulated or whatever they like to tell you is important for cables. I seriously doubt our eyes will see a difference when it comes to 6' HDMI cables.

Sorry - I should have made it more obvious - I am all about the Monoprice baby - I was just messing with the Monster folks...
That's a great deal. I have that same unit in my home theater setup, and it is excellent. Works exactly as described, and reliably so.
If only this was Monster cables
It's great marketing. Owners will defend those fancy, $2/foot cables, no matter how many electrical engineers tell them 15 cent/foot bulk lamp cord from Home Depot delivers the same performance.
Very unlikely. Most switches are one-way... there are specific inputs, and a specific output. This switch, unlike most, is completely passive and non-powered, and can be modded to reverse operation (one in, two out) by reversing or shorting out a couple of internal diodes. A powered active swtich... probably not. You may have to search to find a similar one with 3 inputs(outputs).
No. Usually TVs do their own source autoswitching -- check if your TV is capable of this. Mine is able to switch between DVI1, DVI2 and HDMI by itself.

(like in reverse of what it's probably designed for)No, you're looking for splitter/repeater functionality. Monoprice has plenty of these, too. I recommend the powered ones; the monoprice unpowered ones just never worked for me. Most were even DOA. The powered ones have been solid, though.
I have one of these, works great. I have mine installed inside the wall (doesn't use an AC adapter).
You can only use 1 "always on" device (dish/cable box, wdtv is also always on), and you will want to have that device plugged into input 3. Anything else (blu ray, xbox, ps3) can go in the other inputs.
I don't use the remote, don't really want to. I just wanted something that would switch to my dvd player or xbox when powered on, and switches back to the dish receiver when turned off. This does that for me.

no, I don't think so. I'm looking for something that will connect to three TV's from a DTV receiver, but I wouldn't always want it on the same TV...so I would push button one for TV1, button two when I want it on TV2, etc....

Cz"Wouldn't always" implies that you would want to view it on multiple TVs some of the time...
Which is exactly why I tried to be even more detailed with my post than those two words, - to make my request "idiot proof". Your reply only proved to me that I failed at that. Nevermind i'll just buy it and try it.
