Update: This deal got much better. Some didn't like that I considered it so new and better I made it a new thread, so I am updating this thread to let you know.

Another amazing Sony deal!!

Apparently some people didn't buy so there are some left.

-----

Sony 46" 120hz Bravia V-series LCD TV (KDL-46V5100) and Sony Bluray DVD with BD-Live and WiFi (BDP-560) - $892.90 w/free shipping - Amazon.com
Add both items to your cart:

TV LINK

and

Sony Blu Ray Player - BDP-560 with BDLive and WiFi connectivity

BLU-RAY LINK

I selected free shipping for the Blu Ray...just before you submit your order the promo's are applied and your total is: $892.90

Items: $1,192.90
Shipping & Handling: $54.82
Shipping Savings: -$45.11
Promotion Applied: -$248.72
Super Saver Discount: -$9.71
Promotion Applied: -$51.28
Reward Applied: -$0.00

Total Before Tax: $892.90

Order Total: $892.90

That's a $250 promo discount off the TV price which is now normally priced at $989 and a $50 promo discount the blu ray player which is normally priced at $203.90.

I didn't have any shipping costs and because I'm in MA - no tax for most.

Amazon has a promotion to give you a $250 discount if you buy the Sony BRAVIA V-Series KDL-46V5100 46-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV and the Sony BDP-S560 1080p Blu-ray Disc Player together. The LCD TV is $1,040 and the blu ray player is $210. So buying them together and applying the discount, you get both for $1,000 out the door with free shipping and no tax for most. See below for step by step instructions.

First add the TV to your cart (link below):
LINK

And then add the Blu Ray Player to your cart (link below):
LINK

At checkout, you will see the $250 discount applied with free shipping. Total cost for both the 46 inch LCD HDTV and the Sony high end Blu Ray Player is $1,000.

NOTE: you will NOT see the $250 discount applied until you check out... you will see the discount on the final screen before you confirm the sale.

Alternatively, you can purchase the 40 inch KDL-40V5100 and the same blu ray player for $839. They are both hot deals.

Looks like a great price for a Sony 46" hdtv + Blu-Ray player! And Free shipping to boot!

not a good deal when compared with Sears+Bing deal last week.

Got to go with today techtechtech, not the past.

What deal was better?

WalMart is having the tv for $800 on BF and a bluray player for $75

That kills this deal, just silly to not give red.

Let's see, get this deal today with free shipping and no tax for $1000.

Or get in line at 9pm on Thanksgiving day to wait 12 hours in the hopes of getting his TV and some Bluray player (probably not this one), for $875 + tax + have to take the TV home yourself instead of getting it delivered.

polishdreamer said: That kills this deal, just silly to not give red.

the one from Amazon is model KDL-46V5100 (120Hz) whereas the $798 from WalMart BF is KDL-46S504 (60Hz)

mark5hs said: WalMart is having the tv for $800 on BF and a bluray player for $75

You might want to take a little closer look at the WalMart ad.
They will be selling an S series 46"...this is a V series in this deal.
They are NOT the same TV. The S series is considered to be the bottom line for Sony and the V is a mid-line TV.
And that Blu-Ray is Magnavox. Nothing against Maganvox but Sony is probably little bit better of a Blu-Ray and the Sony in this deal also has the ability to stream on a LAN and has Wifi built in.

Amazed that someone so misinformed would give the deal a red mark. Thanks for correcting him.

I think a Samsung LED TV would be a better buy if you're near this type of money.

Come on dude, I pointed out the error of your logic, but didn't even give you a red. And in response, you give me a red?

It appears that many are very generous with their reds and stingy with their greens. Most of them want an impossible deal or totally miss the value of the deal in question. It can be frustrating.

Good to alert FW to this deal, but shouldn't you acknowledge who you copied it from? SD (danfrphils).

It's word-for-word.

Green for a great deal. I dont want to drift off-topic, but I do not currently own a BD Player. Is it really worth spending on one at all? All I've been reading about recently is that the future is in hi-def movies being streamed to your TV set. Just wanted to know the general take on that.

Also any idea how this would work if I were to return the BD player? I really want the TV. Getting this TV for 800 bucks with free shipping and zero tax is nuts

I just bought the Sony KD 46V5100 from Amazon in June. I paid $1325.00.
Buying the same from WalMart on BF would cost buyers from Calif MORE than Amazon.
WalMart does NOT have the 46V5100 (120) but At Amazon it is $60.00More than the 46S5100 (60)
So WalMart MIGHT work out something like this.
46S5100...........$800.00
Add for 46V5100....$60.00
Calif Tax..........$95.00
Calif Recycle Fee $25.00
Delivery $40.00
DVD Player (wTax) $82.00
Total.............$1102.00
Besides being cheaper at Amazon. When Amazon's delivery contract people delivered it to my DOOR ( By APPOINTMENT). They also unpacked it, attached the base. Hooked it up to my Dish Network service and tested it. ( Even put the battery's in the remote)

I agree.

Next month's tv's are going to be internet capable.

There are already internet capable TVs. But they cost a bunch more. I instead bought an internet capable blue ray player. Only one component in your system has to be internet capable to take advantage as far as I understand it.

Hmm so I guess a BD Player is a decent buy after all. Any idea what happens to the $250 discount if we return it though?

They take the discount back of course.

I have two questions about fatwallet.

1. How do they determine when to put HOT in front of a listing. Mine had HOT half an hour ago and no longer has it.
2. Why does the listing appear to have a max green, but when I look at the forum, it shows a much lower green rating?

How would that work? The player costs $210. The discount is for $250. Would they CHARGE an additional 40 bucks and not credit us at all?

This is a good deal.

The discount is always distributed across the products proportionately. Amazon ain't stupid.

Thanks, in for the 40" and the blue ray.

Worked here... looks like a good deal if you are in the market for a new tv:

Items: $1,251.66
Shipping & Handling: $54.82
Super Saver Discount: -$9.71
Shipping Savings: -$45.11
Promotion Applied: -$250.00

Total Before Tax: $1,001.66
Estimated Tax: $0.00

Order Total: $1,001.66

It appears to be dead now. No more $250 off. But the prices gone bit down.

Another suggestion: instead of the suggested Blue-Ray, take the Sony BDPN460 that is compatible with Netflix streaming for the same sweet price (few bucks more).
Also, seems like BB is having the same deal:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?type=category&id=pcmcat196500050015
I'm in the market for both and I can't find better deal even during Thanksgiving (already announced ads). Getting ready to pull the trigger.

I had purchased this TV from Sears. $989 plus free Blu-ray. -5% friends and family discount and -5% FW Cash + Tax.
Picked it up at the store and if issues I can return it there instead of trying to send it.
I can scan my receipt if anyone can pricematch with a Sears receipt.

Can you provide a link or coupon? Can't find anything similar at Sears. At least Sears.com

Instead of Best Buy, you can get this from Abt.com for $1039.99 for a 46" - ABT

I was *just* about to hit the purchase button when I pulled up a review of the TV.

Only 1 HDMI port makes this shopper sad.

I am at the place my order screen and there is no discount applied, i guess its dead

If you're referring to the V5100 series Sony, there's one HDMI port on the back and 3 on the side.

DealAmateur said: It appears to be dead now. No more $250 off. But the prices gone bit down.Still works. Make sure that both items are sold by Amazon.

Skipping 98 Messages...

We actually got in on this deal for my father-in-law--at the $892 price point with the blu-ray included. Well, the blu-ray arrived and we set it up, then we got a call that the TV was damaged in transit, and that it would be refunded rather than reshipped b/c they were out of stock--so sad--anybody else have this problem
