great little vaccum and great price, but they aren't really too practical. Have to stay plugged in to the charger all day, must for 6-10 minutes of use. Even for doing things like the car, it really isn't that practical. but, a good price none-the-less. Closeout makes me think there will be a newer model with better battery life soon.

Yeah, I think that the primary complaint about this model is it's short battery run time, but it was only designed for quick jobs, not for extended/prolonged use. The best non-refurb price, that's also in stock, that I could find was $150 so it's a pretty good deal at this price.

in for 1. thanks. i've been looking for a replacement the cheap-o we've had for years.
battery life doesn't concern me too much - we currently use our handheld for small, quick jobs.
EDIT: btw, thanks for the coupon code - knocked the snot out of tax and shipping for me, too.
Double Edit: looks like overstock is selling the Pink Version for 94.99, too - I wonder if this would entice my wife to actually clean

Do you think this would be good for vacuuming stairs? Wife wants it for the stairs but with the battery life, I don't know if you could get them done before it died.

I think if this is going to be dying on the job, then it would get annoying. Also, the idea of a charger being on ALL the time is going to cost something in the long run. Just keeping it plugged in all the time is going to cost at least 30-50$ a year.

I don't think it will draw 20W 24/7.

unfortunatly, here in CA I am averaging closer to .15-17$, but I calculated at .020kwh average.

Got the original handheld model. The battery life is ridiculously short and only gets shorter over time. It's very annoying for an expensive vacuum, even at the clearance price. The only thing it's useful for is cleaning spills and accidents. Don't expect to be able to clean a car or anything else requires a portable vacuum for more than a couple minutes. Just giving the warning..........

Thanks OP
Note - the Overstock one does not come with the extra tools. Definitely worth the extra $3-5.
I have the original handheld & have been waiting for a good price to upgrade to the animal. It is great for its intended use which is quick pick ups. Thanks!
use of coupon (part of this deal!) 'll void BingCB!!! good luck!

You wouldn't need to keep it plug in 24/7 unless it takes ridiculously long to charge or it loses charge by itself very quickly.
If either of those are true then its not very good anyway ...

Anyone know if the animal attachment can be used with a 'regular' dyson upright?
I've already got the original handheld for years now and LOVE it, but the battery gave out and no longer holds a charge. A replacement is ridiculously expensive (like $60). So if we could get a whole new unit for only $40 more AND if the animal attachment worked on the upright too, then bonus all around
