This 'friends of employees' offer is back up, but it looks like it's $25 instead of $75, and the iPod thing is done. Still better than nothing.

So in addition to the $75 gift card friends/family thing (below) that i mentioned a couple weeks ago, now they're offering a free iPod shuffle when you sign up. once you've signed up and have an account number, you have to redeem the iPod at this link (http://www.dishnetwork.com/redirects/promotion/ipod/form.aspx). i wish i waited a few more weeks to get this, it would have been a nice present for my nephew for christmas.

Here's the $75 gift card info again. You have to sign up here first if you want both promos.
this is a leaked offer for 'Friends and Family' of dish network employees. its supposed to be for friends and family but the site doesnt require you to validate any information on who you know. one of my friends gave me the link and it was good for a $75 gift card that works pretty much anywhere.

enjoy everyone
USE THIS ONE!!!

Anyone know if you they will let you install yourself with your own eBay receivers?

im not really sure how to do that, but i would guess if you're knowledgeable they would let you do that.

i have heard they can activate your receiver if you already have one and they'd just put the dish on your house.

no personal experience on the subject though, sry

I just did my own install with receivers from the dealership. It took 2 or 3 tries to find one, but they're out there. I explained that if I didn't install it myself I wouldn't get it and under no circumstances would I allow one of their contractors to drill holes in my house.

Smart to install yourself! The idiots who installed ours took about 12 hrs. It was only after my husband figured out what they were doing wrong and was able to finish the job that we were able to get them out of our house so that we could eat dinner by 9:00. Then come to find out they didn't ground the wire outside. They also left oil stains all over my driveway. I had someone else from dish come out who was awesome and fix the ground wire and clean up the messy job they did with wires everywhere. Not to say all independent contractors are bad, but the only trouble I've had is with them and not with Dish employees. I switched to HD when it came out with more channels and demanded a Dish employ and he did a great job and was in and out within an hour even after installing a new dish!

I tried it and it actually worked! I wasn't sure so i emailed the email address on the webpage and they responded saying everything was fine and that i'd be getting my card in 4-6 weeks. They didn't even ask if i had a friend or family member at dish.

hello everyone, i updated the URL. one of my friends gave me the heads up that the old URL wasn't adding the 'Friend' code to the accounts. SORRY ABOUT THAT!!!

Here is the URL that works!!!

After the original Dish contractors messed up my installation I was unable to get Dish to send anyone out to fix it. I went to one of the Dish installers in person and told him I will pay him to fix my Dish installation and he refused. He said he would not fix the work performed by another Dish installer.

I had to remove the mess and reinstall the Dish equipment by myself.

my install went smoothly. and a good thing too cause i wouldnt know how to install myself.

so nobody has said if they tried this or not.

i was holding off dish network for a while. but finally jumped at this offer.

i placed it and on my final confirmation page, "friend" was on the top right of the page as confirmation.
the chat person that helped me also confirmed that i was good for $75.

ME: thanks for your help. as with the promotion, how long before i get the $75 card?
Dax P. BGD: $75 MasterCard prepaid card is mailed to your home after activating DISH Network service under the Partner Discount Program.
Dax P. BGD: Please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery.

glad you like it 'dpid'

almost 3,000 views, nice!

they extended this one through Christmas

they added an iPod shuffle to this offer. good for a nice christmas present for a friend or yourself haha

you're kidding me, i must have signed up like a week before this ipod offer was available. good find, but bummer for me

thanks ejohnson- just signed up through the link today!

is it really 24.99 or more? any hidden/extra charges?

Thanks OP.

In for the Dish Double Dip, $75GC and an Ipod.

I too, took the plunge based on this offer. Signed up on Christmas evening, installer was at my house the next day. I was'nt 100% thrilled with the install ,left a few cables exposed at the back of the box; but I quickly hid them behind my tv stand, overall seems ok. I signed up for Cinemax for an extra $.01 for a year with e-billing; not a bad deal.

Going to email them today to make sure I receive my $75 gift card.

Thanks for the post!

So is this a dead deal now. Anybody with an updated link of offer code?

how did i miss this
well, ... waiting for the next one

emailed today after my installation on the 24th. said everything is in order and i should get the GC in 4-6 weeks. ipod should be coming in a week or so. i was also able to stack a clubdish discount for a triple dip!

I'm not sure, I'd be curious to know if there are any taxes/fees on satellite TV these days. When I had it 10 years ago, there weren't any taxes and fees, and the cable companies were strongly lobbying state and federal legislature to get them to add taxes to satellite TV.

On the other hand, here are a few hidden/extra charges I know of (they really aren't hidden you just have to read the fine print/contract to see this):

-After the first year, your bill goes up $15 bucks.

-24 month contract required. If you cancel before 24 months is up, you then have an early termination fee of $15x Months Remainng, so let's say you have 12 months left, that's a $180 early termination Fee.

I'm debating on signing the contract or just paying the installation fee and the higher monthy fee to avoid contract. Still cheaper then Cox cable, but I am renting and never know how long it will be before I move again!

Are they still honoring this offer? It says Expires Dec 25, but the link still works.

$50 credit on your first bill in addition to national advertized promotions such as free installation, delivery, activation and plans starting a 24.99 a month. Go to www.dishnetwork.com and enter VCD0004602962 in the gift card area during checkout. Each code can only be used once and they expire 31-May-2010.

I price out the offer through this link versus walking through the "front door." The difference is that with this offer they hit me with a $6/mo. "service plan" that wasn't charged on the other method. The first 6 months of the service plan is free, and you can call to cancel, but for the lazy this promotion will actually put you behind.
