I personally had a problem with Onsale rebates. They denied my rebate when I met all of the requirements. I filed complaints with the BBB and finally got paid, but it was way too much work. What proof do you need? Many others here have had issues with them where they failed to pay rebates. Making a post and then denying that others could have issues is irresponsible on your part. Red for this deal.
These are pretty flawed units. You'll need to upgrade the firmware to play some discs, and there is no option for any kind of future internet enabled features. Well worth the $39 - but not that much more.
I never denied some people have issues. Anyone can have a problem with any rebate. Thing is, you only hear from those that had problems, not from those that got the rebate fine.
You are asking for "proof" on a shady deal for a subpar product. Let it go already. This is not a hot deal. There are better players and the majority of the people who try this deal will NOT get their rebate without a lot of fighting, and even then may not see their money. I have done hundreds if not thousands of rebates in my time and I know how to follow instructions to the letter, yet I had to fight with Onsale to get them to pay up. Others couldn't even get a response from Onsale. Avoid this company and this deal.
What do fake rebate forms look like? Guys it is even referenced on their website. If you think onsale.com is a bad vendor, I have seen complaints about them. Mostly it is for canceling orders on out of stock items though. Dell does that daily with supposed errors in their listings that get posted all over the web. Latest was a 60" Sharp TV that disappeared shortly after it hit another deal site.
I think people should research onsale.com or call them if they are concerned and use a credit card they trust in case anything goes awry.
Granted onsale.com is no Amazon. So, should we say that they should not be listed here at all?
Yup. Work for Onsale. Why I have posted numerous prior hotdeals for anyone but onsale. Dumb.
I just think the guys here are posting nonsense with no backing in what they say. Some reviews were harsh, fine. Many were stellar. I have to believe that was an issue with the product that was corrected when reviews are so different among customers.
I just post here trying to provide people information about deals. If I read their comments and I think they are accurate, I won't comment. In this case, it sounded like a couple of people jaded about onsle.com.
But that is my last comment. I have better things to do. Like the deal, buy it. Don't like it? Don't.
Do yourself a HUGE favor and don't bother with this unit. It's nothing but problems. Do a search for the model number here and see for yourself. I posted at least twice how bad they are.
Threadcrapping at its finest. It's good to give people a headsup but the OP is correct on this...You can't find ANY Blueray player for anywhere close to this price. Yes it's a definite buyer beware but if it works for you it's a heck of a deal.
