I acknowledge another poster posted something very similar to this. This one is different due to a different expiration date and you do not need to wait for Paypal to send you a targeted email. This offer came up when I logged into my individual Paypal account. I would think it would for you too.
UPDATE: Watch the webpages you visit. I just saw a Yahoo webpage banner advertising for this offer including link to similar page maxfleischer provided below.
The student account is a subaccount of your account. Paypal will credit each student account $10.00 up to 4 student accounts allowed to receive the $10.00 in each student account.
Personal recommendation - READ the terms and fees carefully to your student. Review and set the permissions that you are comfortable with. I barred them from ATM because they could loose $4-5.00 in fees taking out $10.00. I barred them from sending their friends money via Paypal.

It looks like they issue a debit Mastercard linked to each student account. These are not prepaid cards, in the normal sense. Do not just throw them away once the $10 is spent because they are still linked to the Paypal account. I couldn't find any way to NOT request one. There was no option for that. There is supposed to be an option on your Paypal prefs to disable the card, however.
You can transfer money between parent & child accounts, so once the $10 arrives it should be no problem to move it into your main Paypal account. No need to fool with debit cards at WalMart.

fyi- when I signed into PP, it did not automatically offer it to me (in good standing, just not a frequent user?) so I had to search for a link.
it DOES look like it's a typo- they just copied their same info from the prior offer (exp 11/20). hope this helps.
I am a PP customer in good standing but not a frequent user. usmcwifey where did you find the offer after you logged in?

The most recent offer was a banner on the Paypal site immediately after login in the lower right hand corner. Previously, it was a popup full screen immediately after login. I had to accept or decline before getting to my transaction screen.

Thanks OP!! This worked great.Actual PP setup date was Nov 21 according to my PP registered email. - same date as my FW post. I just was not watching that closely. I took two accounts and pulled the Cash Back from both this morning. The cash is being transferred to my regular bank account. I'll keep the cards for the kids when they go on trips. Who knows? I may just use the student accounts as PayPal intended.

Clever paypal is collecting your kids info so they have it in future cases where when your kids get older and use paypal and there one of the so called problem causers (which 90% are in there book) they have all the info there to limt and link them. Wouldnt suprize me if they didnt ask for the kids/students socials lol
We use this for my 15 year old's after school meals on the way home. He can stop at the ice cream store with the girls and feel like a big shot 'charging' it. Very handy and I don't worry about him having too much money on him. He got his $10 on Dec 1st from Paypal.
As long as you control the cards and cash transfer info, who cares? I plan on keeping my two open until the kids get to age 21 unless PP does something otherwise. I may start placing the kids eBay purchases on those student accounts.
Yes you do. You can also make yourself be the student and get the $10 anyway. This is great for situations where you need a virtual credit card number for things like newspaper subscriptions, where the CSRs don't listen to you when you say you don't want to renew.
I got this for my 15 year old daughter. She currently uses the Upside credit/debit card and the monthly usage charge and charges to add money to her account are crazy. If this works out, I'll be dropping Upside immediately!!

Have you checked if unfunded "charges" will cause a fee rejected auth attempts??
