There's one color available for $229 IIRC.

That is not the same mixer as the OP has presented.

The $300 price is only for the Meringue color. The next lowest price is $338 for Onyx Black, and the other colors all vary all the way up to $400 before the $50 rebate.

Kind of ridiculous just for a color change.

Unless you have excess stock of one color to move...

i just dont care i will buy the 399.99 because i want the color, and then when i get the rebate check i will just rip it up and toss it...

Ching Bob is that you?

Beat me to it. I seem to buy this every year for around this price (cheapest was $200 ar). I don't care about the color. Excellent deal OP!

Ya, sell me one on the cheap!

why are these mixer so expensive. I just bought a front loader washer for 350, which I'll use every week.. and for a mixer, I need to pay 250... which I will use once every 1/2 years. Can't get myself to pull the trigger.

Because you don't make delicious cookies in a washing machine. Well, probably not anyways.

Ok, I'll stop kidding around. Clearly you're not the target market for Kitchenaid if you only need a mixer every 6 months. It's too expensive for me too, but for those who bake often and want a very high quality appliance, it's a good deal. For me, I'm perfectly happy with the 5-speed Kitchenaid handmixer I bought for $30 (thanks to FW)... for now.

Pulled the trigger. Great deal!

Great Deal! I've been looking for a present for my girlfriend. Changed onyx black to nickel pearl for delivery before Christmas. Hope she still likes it.
