Hopefully this deal gets a better response than my HD DVD-R deal

I just received an earlybird Black Friday email from a company (Bluscenes) I preordered from telling me they were lowing my price to match their future BF sale. The coupon codes they sent worked now.

I stacked two different coupons during checkout, they were
50% off code = "earlyinvite"
$1 off code = "woodennickel" (this was the original code I used when I ordered)

Linky

The discs come out next week. I received an earlier email about how the disc have managed copy on them, so the release date was made for around 12/2, which is when managed copy goes live. Here's the info on the 3 for 1 (or less than 1 with 2 coupons) bundle.

"The BluScenes Bundle includes our first 3 releases at a very special price.

This bundle of three Blu-ray discs shares BluScenes' commitment to bringing you high-quality ambient art. It contains:

BluScenes: The Classic Fireplace
BluScenes: Coral Reef Aquarium
BluScenes: Journey Through Space

All of these BluScenes discs feature:

1080p or better source material
7.1 DTS-HD MA and Dolby Digital 5.1 audio
Seamless looping
Managed Copy Support
No Region Coding

In other words, this bundle includes our 3 inaugural Blu-ray discs. We hope that you will enjoy using them to relax and set a mood as much as we've enjoyed making them!"

Anyway, I thought some of you might also be looking for some good cheap Blu-ray discs to test out our new TVs and blu-ray players. And if they have managed copy enabled, all the better.

I left out S&H last night. I ordered 2 bundles, so S&H was $5.95 for 6 Blu-ray discs. Comes out to $34.90 for 6 Blu-ray discs delivered (with both coupon codes), but with one bundle (3 Blu-rays - Yule log, aquarium and space ) it's $18.98 shipped.

Individual discs come out at $9.38 delivered.

I'm going to see if there are any other codes from them.

edit: it's a dollar less. it's $18.98 not $19.98

$18.98 for all 3 is a steal considering Amazon wants $15 each. Thanks Chumpy.

mine comes out to $27. and change, using the discounts and discs you named, whats up

What did you order? Did you try the link to automatically apply the coupons?

edited to fix link

i did try that link automatically, maybe that's why, but i also cancelled out and tried the three mentioned in this post, except i did not see the Yule log only the classic log, maybe theres only one log to order from now, any help would be appreciated

edited to fix link

this is taking only one dollar off for entire 3 disc order and half off each disc ordered plus shipping is added after $21.42 total making it $27

I fixed it in my link. I was linking to the cart, but the item needs to be added first to get the discount, so:
click
http://www.bluscenes.com/pd-bluscenes-bundle.cfm?cpn=woodennickel,earlyinvite

and then press "add to cart"

and you should be in for both discounts.

Edited due to my linking incompetence.

great . . . thanks for the help, originally i added each disc to cart but your edited link puts all three discs in same bundle and i got it for the price you indicated, a great price, my wife has been wanting a fake electric fireplace, well, i can now put in a blu ray disc in living room and viola, you have a fireplace with sounds, great deal OP

Thanks. I'm sending a fireplace to my dad in Florida. He has the flat screen on a brick wall so it should look nice. He just needs a Blu-ray player, which I'm hoping to snag cheap on Friday morning.

I see why yours is showing up as $27. Try adding the bundle. The indivual discs come out to more
but the bundle is already discounted so it's like stacking 3 discounts together.

The Yule log is the same as the fireplace log. its one of the options. I'm just using it for the Yule log part of it though.

What exactly is "Managed Copy"??

VirtuaL said: What exactly is "Managed Copy"??From Wikipedia:

Managed Copy refers to a system by which consumers can make legal copies of films and other digital content protected by AACS. This requires the device to obtain authorization by contacting a remote server on the Internet. The copies will still be protected by DRM, so infinite copying is not possible (unless it is explicitly allowed by the content owner). It is mandatory for content providers to give the consumer this flexibility in both the HD DVD and the Blu-ray standards (commonly called Mandatory Managed Copy). The Blu-ray standards adopted Mandatory Managed Copy later than HD DVD, after HP requested it.[12]

Possible scenarios for Managed Copy include (but are not limited to):

* Create an exact duplicate onto a recordable disc for backup
* Create a full-resolution copy for storage on a media server
* Create a scaled-down version for watching on a portable device

Koan is right. It's different from digital copy. Digital copy is when discs come with a PIN code to download a file for an iPod or iPhone or just have extra content on the ROM. Managed copy basically means that you'll be able to archive it to a device or media server, assuming the device supports the feature. Right now I don't think any of them do.

Thanks OP......very very nice deal!!!!!

Does anybody know anything about the PQ.. A few years ago I bought some similar HDScapes and they were disappointing to say the lease.

I have the HDScape sampler. Those were 1080i, and there was some interlacing like on the flames. These are shot on Red so it should have a good picture quality.

tempting, should i jump on this or just get other 1080p material and run it through my htpc?

I went in for 3. 1 for me, one for my dad, and one to split up as cheap christmas gifts.

I'm in. Thanks Chumpy!

I'm attaching a file showing picture quality. I've seen some other RED productions and they usually have a very filmic look. NOTE: I didn't rip these, they are on the site. All I did is compress them to fit. Fair use.

Now I'm off to overindulge today. Look forward to finding some good deals here when I wake up from my turkey coma. Thanks for the greenlights. Happy Turkey Day!

Is this dead? I tried to add the coupons but it shows up as $21.42, not $13.98 like it says.

It's not dead, but you need to add the bundle to get the price because the bundle is already discounted. Don't add the discs separately. This link adds the coupon automatically:
http://www.bluscenes.com/pd-bluscenes-bundle.cfm?cpn=woodennicke...

Not working for me

Nice. Thanks for the link. It went straight to the bundle, I added it to the cart and the discounts showed up straightaway. 50% discount is on entire order. Thanks, Chumpy!

WronskiBeat said: Not working for me

did u follow the provided bundle link and then ADD COUPON, earlyinvite

Thought so. I'll try again

I wrote to bluscenes. They said it might have been my cookies from all my wrong attempts. I'm in.
They overrode the price manually. Glad I got in before it expires! Thanks chumpythechimp! Green for you.

Sweet. I'm getting a blu-ray player for christmas. I'll definitely pick these up to start to build my collection. Awesome price to get me started. Thank you!

This offer is dead. Updating thread subject line to eliminate confusion.

I just purchased for 18.98...

There's a Cyber Monday deal on the site now. I also got an email update today and there's some information up on the blog.
The previous links in this thread contain expired coupon codes. I'll leave it up to mods or other readers to determine whether to split this into a new one.

New thread here.

I just got a tracking number on this. Anybody else? I'm downloading the "portable Yule Log" now. LOL. (fireplace for iPhone and mp3 players that they sent out with tracking, not sure if it works with my droid though).

Got mine too. The small downloadable version is a nice touch. I'll have to check it out when I get home.

Confirming I got my tracking as well, but I didn't download the Yule Log yet.

Mine arrived today. Won't have time to put them on until Saturday. It was dated Tuesday and shipped first class.
