20GB HDs can be had for about $30 from fleabay or Craigslist. A DD-WRT (even the micro version) compatible router can be had for around the same price. And/Or sell Guitar Hero for the extra dough.
You can also use a laptop and bridge the connection. Run a net cable from xbox to laptop. Go into network connections. Select both the wireless and ethernet connection by holding down ctrl while left clicking. When both are highlighted, right click and choose bridge connection. Now you laptop is the "wireless" connection for your xbox and you saved $70.
Thanks, in for one. Also added DJ Hero, which I think should qualify me for the $40 promo. I just need to sell off the console for $25-$50 below retail and essentially get guitar+drums+turntable for around $100.
