To paraphrase the Family Guy: (in an episode when Peter and Lois opened a restaurant)
Peter: "Good evening, welcome to Big Pete's House of Munch, how can I help you?"
Customer: "Yes, do you accept the Discover card?"
Peter (behind podium): "Ha! Hey Lois, 'Diamond Jim Brady' over here just asked if we accept Discover card!"
Lois (from kitchen): "OOOOH, they're in an exclusive club called 'anybody!'"
Peter: "Yeah! No, no no, I don't think so. You know, I would rather take two live chickens than your fly-by-night credit card. I would rather take a jar of pennies that's value is less than the amount of your bill."
Customer: "Well you don't have to insult me!"
Peter: "No, no no, you're gonna stand there and listen to all the funny things I would take instead of your credit card. NO ONE takes Discover. I am surprised we do. You might as well carry around Euros and Yen - you have a better chance of someone in America accepting it as payment than Discover."
How about from Futurama, episode A Fishful of Dollars?
Fry: "Do you take Visa?" Clerk: "Visa hasn't existed for five hundred years." Fry: "American Express ?" Clerk: "Six hundred years." Fry: "Discover Card?" Clerk: "Hmm...sorry, we don't take Discover."
I keep a Discover around because they have good promotions for CashBack and offer coupons from retail partners time to time.

You can fill in the rest... Nice reminder of how much I hate "Family Guy" and everything else that moron Seth Whoever creates.
You're right, It's not very funny. It's G.D. hilarious !
(And I use my Discover - occasionally at least,.. when I get a good deal)

Discover might be the red-headed step-child of the major credit cards, but their CashBack is awesome. It's 1% on all purchases and 5% on select categories that rotate every 3 months. They also have special promotions with higher percentages from certain stores sometimes. My wife and I recently cashed in $1000 of CashBack to pay for various purchases on a week-long trip to D.C. Granted that was multiple years' worth of CashBack, but it's better than spit in your eye. We also received a free gift card to Red Lobster without having to do anything. We don't get squat from our Visa.
