and lose a year of warranty, as Discover does not provide an extra year of warranty.

Thanks OP!

FYI, 1 year warranty.

Anyone knows what's inside ?

WD15EADS or WD15EVDS ?

Thanks !

WD15EADS or WD15EVDS

what's the difference?

Thanks OP, In for 1 with discover. 89.99 shipped!

Probably the "EVDS." All the other elements had the "V" drives on them. To the other poster, the "V" version only has 8MB Cache.

If it is the same as the one from Dell (WDBAAU0015HBK-NESN), then it is WD 15EADS.

Missed out on the OM 500GB Deal (and the subsequent Frys 500GB deal) - is this the one to jump on? I kind of want two of these so I can create an external RAID-like array with one drive backing up the other.

Hard drives always die the day after your warranty expires anyway.

Can you cancel that "wired' subscription for another 10 off?

dont think you can get better then this.......90something shipped with discover........was going to hold off for esata/usb but cant pass it up.

Seems like a good price. I wish the warranty were longer than a year though and I don't really mean with a credit card that adds a year. My sincere hope is, that a drive with a 5 year warranty is more likely to make it 5 years than one with out a 5 year warranty. But in reality, there probably isn't any substantive difference in their build quality. Only a couple bucks more in the cost of the 5 year warranty to cover the insurance of replacing a dead drive within 5 years.

now shows $ 130.99 ?
