Looks like Nero 9 is available FAR now too. Nero 9 @ Fry's Same version offered last year so I'll pass ...

Sitting and collecting dust.Funny thing is you spend hours trying to get this deal and put it on eBay then someone who's never even spent a single second on this deal clicked on the item on eBay and bought it for almost nothing. You also spend gas and time shipping the item so the buyer can enjoy the fruit of YOUR labor. That's why I tend to just give it away or donate it
can someone tell me what should i mail to get the upgrade rebate? Do I need to mail my title CD came with previous version? Or I can just mail a copy of the CD?

From the Pinnacle rebate:
The original user’s manual title page from a previous full retail version of any qualifying software title, or the qualifying software title’s CD (See list of qualifying software titles at right. OEM or pre-installed versions are not qualifying software titles)
Good question! A photocopy of the original installation disk is usually acceptable...
I know that a photocopy of the CD is usually acceptable, but does anyone have specific experience with an upgrade rebate (ie sending in a photocopy of the CD) from the rebate center at White Bear Lake, MN?

I remember that Pinnacle did say NO to CD copy for the upgrade rebate last year.

Wait after the order gets shipped and then log in to your frys account; you will see a link to print the proof of purchase (invoice). I always use this for rebates without any problems.

Is it just me or the $20 upgrade rebate for NERO doesn't mention anything about having a previous/competitor version of the software?
To receive your rebate: 1. Purchase Nero 9 between 09/29/08 and 03/31/10 and get $20.00 back by mail. 2. Send in the following: 1) This completed rebate form, 2) A copy of the receipt showing purchase of Nero 9, and 3) A copy of the UPC barcode(s) from Nero 9 (UPC 6-58657-50000-0, 6-58657-50001-7, 6-58657-50010-9, 6-58657-50011-6, 6-58657-50519-7, or 6-58657-50013-0). 3. Mail to: Offer #18547 Nero 9 Competitive / Upgrade $20 Rebate PO Box 22092 Tempe, AZ 85285-2092
Does that mean I don't need to have a previous version of Nero to get this rebate?!?

I ordered this but cancelled when I realized there's a MORE ultimate version with extra filters and a cloth green screen. I'm hoping that version will be FAR by New Years.

That is excellent to know. I just jumped on the Adobe photoshop+premier deal for 74 at bb.
now i can get the upgrade, but still forking some money for software. but I don't mind, I would rather little money and get started on some useful software.
and there is no way I would send the previous copy of disks to these other video editing, after I spent what I did.
You got me excited thinking I could get Adobe Photoshop for 74 (US dollars?). It's only Photoshop Elements, for $150 today, unless you found it in some secret place.

no I made an error: It was photoshop elements with premier elements :fatwallet link to deal
I should be more careful sorry, and I really don't know all the differences in the software as I just started getting in to this type.
I have been using all three (Pinnacle Studio, Nero, and PSP) since about 2003. I just upgraded this year... because I upgraded to Win7 and all of my old versions were buggy to varying degrees. This comes at exactly the right time if you are like me and ran XP for 8 years, skipped Vista, and now find yourself going to Win7 with a lot of applications from before 2006.
