Search for 1.5tb at Newegg and you will see that the Samsung is the same price and appears to have a lower failure rate based on the reviews.

What about the "green" in this Western Digital? Which would be better for an HTPC that is on all the time? The Samsung or the WD?

I'm using both WD Green and Samsung F2 and am happy with both - they're low power and run cooler than the drives they replaced.

Amazon has this same hard drive for the same deal, $89 and free shipping.
No sales tax with Amazon.

Has anyone here ordered a bare/OEM drive from Amazon? If so, what is their quality for packing and shipping like? Is Amazon sloppy or careful when they ship bare/OEM drives? I have never bought an OEM drive before. I have always bought retail boxed HDD's because they are better protected. Because of this, I rarely ever have problems with HDD's.

I ordered one last night but canceled my order. Found the same deal at TigerDirect but no free shipping unless you order 100.00 or more. In the end I ordered 2 for 179.98 + fs + bcb. Works out great if you need more than two and the egg taxes you.
