4GB Memory HP: 2 DIMMs vs. Lenovo: 4 DIMMs. But the Lenovo spec states that Y550 has only 2 DIMMs sockets???
If you have ordered Lenovo Y550 last month ...then would get 2 years extended warranty coz of error of sending windows XP than windows 7...so FREE warranty 1 year.....that cost $119 ....so that one is better

This is a better deal IMHO, I bought into the Lenovo Y550 drama. The extra one year warranty Lenovo is offering will not be used, a quality laptop will last at least 4 years without any problems. I've had my HP Pavilion DV5000 for over 4 years, use it every day (hours at a time) and never have had an issue.
This HP from Newegg has a better GPU, a built-in key pad, comes with a remote, already has W7 installed, no tax, Neweggs shipping is super fast, and 10% BC makes this a hot deal. Additionally, I hate the touch pad on the Y550.

In for 1 also; been searching for a good laptop for a few weeks, and this one jumped out at me. The faster 7200rpm hard drive, dedicated 1 gig graphics card, and Core 2 Duo T6600 Processor did it for me. Was seriously considering the Sony from Best Buy with the Blue Ray, but, decided this HP was a better deal, especially with the extra Bing 10% off - do not forget to register on Bing prior to buying.

Thnx jm888c, for me this is a win-win laptop fr the following reasons:
1gb dedicated GPU Details 7200rpm drive 320gb drive 4gb ram USB/eSATA combo Altec lansing speakers LightScribe drive and ofcurse $585!!!! (i paid $650 + CA tax though, but still a steal!)
I've been unable to get the CashBack to show up in the links. I've followed the instructions above after clearing my browser's cache, and I even tried a different browser. No NeweggCashBack any where.
Is this still a decent deal with tax and no bing cb? Or would I be able to find a similar laptop? Would I be able to run L4D2 at decent settings?

But I have not purchased this earlier so I am not sure why this is being canceled automatically by the system. Unfortunately customer care is not available until Monday when the offer runs out. Did any one get the same problem?

Have any of you tested the battery on this? On two tests, one with video running and the other just web browsing, I only get about 2 hours before the warning indicator comes on for both scenarios. Just want to see if this is normal. Maybe with the addition of a dedicated GPU is making the battery run out quickly.
