Haven't decided if I'm going to go yet, but if I do I'll try and grab a couple of the freebies, the Athlon II X2 240 combo for $39.99 AR, and a pack of Verbatim 100 DVDs at the very least.

lament said: Your link goes to the LG BD370 product page, not more deals.
And are you sure it's the LG BD370 and not the 270 that will be that price? Everyone has the 270 for ~$99 for BF.
I looked at the ad and it's referring to Item # 5897883, which is BD370 on Fry's Website and currently selling for $ 199... Surely it's the best price for a Blu-Ray Player for all the BF ads, I have seen so far.
There will be people on top of people don,t worry about that..I was at Downers Grove store in the Chicago area last year..40 minute trip, 15 minutes to find a parking spot, place was like a War zone.!

Anyone can post the Ads for Phoenix/Tempe, AZ area?
Back in the day (8-10 years ago) I used to do Best Buy or Circuit City for BF every year, but have did Fry's last 2 years now, this will be my third. Why is it that every year we get hundreds of store ads leaked 30+ days in advance, but no one ever leaks the full 8-page ad from Fry's??? Every year I have to get in line to camp out for stuff that I don't even know I will want to buy... just crazy!! And yet here I am doing it again... *sigh* mannyd said: they still got the 8 page ad coming out tomorrow so don't count them out just yet
Nothing exciting in that ad.. You'd they full 8 page ad will be in todays newspaper as by the time you get the paper and get the store, get & inline you'll be like #300-500, and most of that stuff will be sold out by then.. I'm going to Best Buy and sending the wife to WalMart.. Can't count on not knowning what they are doing. .
the OC Register never has the Fry's ads online. I would go and camp out if I knew what was going to be on sale.

Does anyone have the fry's ad for southern California? I think the MSI notebook with a Blu Ray player is a good deal for less than $500, especially if it has a non-Intel graphics chip.

Anybody know if they're going to have the 8400GS as an online deal too? or is it just going to be instore?
IMO, overall better deals compared to the rest this year.
I am not in need of much, however, wish to grab a few of the good deals. Decision time, go and brave the long lines or just stay in and not end up buying stuff that I don't really need?

Whaaaaaaat? $200 Bluray for $77,same LG Washer/Dryer combo that HD is advertising in it's black friday ad...but for $200 less @ Frys? A REAL decent mobo combo for $39??
Nothing good eh? This is the ONLY store that has anything worth going for this year. Actually getting the wife involved in it for the first time as a result.

For fellow Chicago people, Fry open at 5:00 am, what time should I get there for good deal?

LA Times and OC Register both carry the ads, but always post the ads on their websites way late. The SoCal ads are exactly the same ad the San Jose ads, except there is no Sony eBook reader.

I'd say out of any of the retailers this year, Fry's is the best. That's not saying much but they definitely have more options when trying to save a few bucks on some decent items.
sdds14 said: ..................and the LOUSIEST BF AWARD goes to "Frys's"
And the dumbest post of the year award goes to... "sdds14"
Seriously, 10MP digital camera for $49, 500GB hard drive for $34, 8400GS video card free (AR), Athlon/mobo combo for $40 (AR), 32" LCD TV for $244, color laser printer for $70, decent webcam for $8, this is by far the BEST BF ad this year. And tomorrow's ad is 4 times as big!
Last year, Fry's Black Friday was actually the next day, Saturday. I suspected they do the same thing this year, as the ads for Friday states, "1 Day Sale," but not "Lowest Price of the Year Sale."

As somebody explained elsewhere, the insert ads for BB, etc. get printed well in advance, and there are many opportunities for somebody at the printing plant or in the stuffing operation to snag a copy and spill the contents. As the Fry's ad is printed as part of the newspaper and is transmitted digitally, there are very few people who see it until it starts rolling off the press a few hours before the sale starts.

Thanks for the insight. Since it sounds like you know the inner workings, any opinion as to why Fry's take this approach? Surely not for the secrecy. Is it because they are non-nation-wide and it's simply more economical to workout with their market area presses? There certainly have been times when I wished the Fry's ad would be colorful and glossy (and show more details).
For folks who are wondering if frys $77 blu-ray player is LG BD270 or BD370, BD270 does not have BD-live. Ad says BD-live. For BD-live you need network connection and BD370 has it. This is the awesomest deal, I was able to score the $80 Amazon BD370 (with Amazon chase card) last week but this even beats that (pre-tax).
Fry's is one of the best retailers every year for BF. They always have something worth going for and usually lower price for same items BB and others have every year. Dont know what the resoning is for the uncommon ad tactics but it does work. Expect a huge ad either tomorrow or Saturday. They are unpredictable at times but always have the best deals, especially in computer hardware and software.

My friend and I drove past a couple of Fry's on the way home from work last night. The Fry's in Industry and Anaheim had people lined up in tents (at least four or five at each store) at 8PM on Wednesday.
Arblast said: Those that bought the Athlon II X2 240 combo, did you get the K9N6PGM-V2 or K9N6PGM2-V2? The rebate form has K9N6PGM-V2, but they gave me K9N6PGM2-V2. Main question is, is it going to affect the rebate? Sticker on the motherboard box reads "911-7309-051" which is the P/N on the pdf rebate form.
