In case you missed this Black Friday deal, I'm posting here. The coupon code is different, so disregard the prior post. Those codes won't work. From the BluScenes blog:
--snip-- November 30, 2009: 11:00 PM - Here comes CyberMonday I hope that you had a great Thanksgiving weekend! We took a trip down to Florida, ate a lot of food, and woke up to a surprising amount of orders on Black Friday. Thank You. As a startup company during a severe recession, it truly means a lot to us.
The story goes that the Monday after the long Thanksgiving weekend has turned into a "shopping while at work" bonanza in the internet age. I spent this afternoon at Jersey Gardens (a large outlet mall in NJ) with my wife and our twin 13 month old daughters, and I can understand why some people would prefer to shop online -- even better still, if somebody is paying you to be at work.
...cutting for length...
The term Cyber Monday sounds a bit scary, so our coupon code will fit the mood. Use the code "pyrofish" to take 50% off your BluScenes order for the first 200 redemptions. Or Click Here to apply the code automatically.
OK here's the trick. The site says $14.98, but if you use "woodennickel" after the coupon code above, you will save another dollar. The other trick is to not add the items to your cart separately. Just add the bundle. Link: http://www.bluscenes.com

Thanks! I got in on the first round, but I told my wife about it and she said she wants to get one for a secret santa gift at the office. And even with shipping, it's under $20, so it works.
There's also some stills and full length clips here. If you have a program that can extract video from flash, you can play it on your iPod. (Don't ask me how I know).

I just got a new HDTV on Black Friday, and it included a Blu-ray player with it. The in-laws will think the fireplace thing is hilarious, or maybe I should just weird them out with the fish. They don't get out a lot, and they're still watching a big console TV from 1975
Where did you find a TV with an included Blu-ray? The only thing I ever heard of that included a Blu-ray is my PS3. I think that's gonna change, though. I'm holding off on buying a new iMac for exactly that reason. I refuse to buy one now just to have them put out a better one with a built-in BD-ROM drive the next week.

It came free with the TV at Best Buy, Panasonic 50" 1080p Plasma and Blu-ray $999.99.Pretty sweet if you ask me
That extra penny of savings made all of the difference, I'm sure. Why don't stores just level with us and make it an even amount. $1,000. It looks like a lower number. At least it has a lot of zeroes in it. (maybe that kind of thinking is why my credit card is as high as it is).
BluScenes just called me to ask me for my transaction number for one of my orders. My paypal email was different from the one I used as my contact info. They said there were no problems, but they were just going through the orders to make sure things went smoothly. I'm not sure of what happened but there was a PayPal record of my order and a web order but somehow they weren't linked in their system. Maybe because I used Mrs. Chumpy's paypal.
Do you mean runtime? "This aquarium Blu-ray disc contains 3 unique and diverse tanks, with a total runtime of 62 minutes. Each section loops seamlessly for continuous enjoyment."
If you mean lifetime, I guess you should ask if any fish were harmed in making this program!
Just checking in. I got my Bluscenes today and I have the fireplace on now. It's a nice soothing effect. Will post again when I watch the rest. Thanks OP.

I'm really enjoying the aquarium bluscenes. And Mr. Sascha, our cat seems to enjoy it too . The fireplace looked nice, but I think I'll have enough time for that in 10 days. I didn't watch the space one yet but probably won't have time tonight. Going to watch Dexter finale on my DVR first.

Won't spoil it for you, but I will just say that Dexter was more disturbing last night then it ever had been.
Have fun!

When I saw the trailer 2 weeks ago, I was like "no way!" If it's anything like that, it's going to be insane. I've tried so hard not to read spoilers. OK. That's it. Gonna watch it now. Will report back. (sorry for going off-topic, but that show is awesome).

Two comments: 1) I liked the space disc. It put me to sleep. Not sure if that was the intent but it worked like a charm. 2) The Dexter ending shocked me, and to avoid spoilers, I'll leave it at that.
I just got an email from Blu Scenes saying that they are sending a replacement Fireplace disc to every customer before Christmas. My disc played with no probs but it's definitely good customer service to fix a potential problem without placing a burden on the customer.
I got the email too and it said they are mailing me replacements for the copies I bought. I was watching the Fireplace the other day. I don't think I saw any problems with it. Maybe my player is one of those that are immune.
I got another email this morning about the replacement Fireplace. It doesn't matter to me anyway because mine didn't have a problem in the first place but I'll post when I get it.
If it plays fine you don't have to do anything but it said everybody is getting a free replacement. We have the aquarium playing in our waiting room now. We've been getting a lot of comments about it. The fireplace was on earlier. It's one of those things that I guess is so kitshy it's cool. I have to admit I'm a sucker for this kind of thing
There's a new thread HERE Free iPhone download of a Yule Log (it works on other phones and iTouch too).

Hi guys. FYI. I just would like to let you know that this discs do not work on my player and tv. I have a new Sharp Aqous 52 lcd tv and a new Aqous blu-ray player. When i try to play this discs a big warning box appears in the middle of the tv screen "Copy protected signal can not be outputted to the connected equipment." Don`t know whats going on but all other bluray discs I have work fine!
Have you contacted Sharp or Scenic Labs? Sharp players are good midrange players, but I had multiple issues with mine and got a PS3. Sharp firmware tends to lag behind. Since the BluScenes discs use the updated AACS spec, I wouldn't be surprised if that wasn't the cause of your problem. I used to have to reset my TV and player all the time.

I have contacted Scenic Labs and they solved my little problem in a very helpful and professional manner. It seems that the firmware on my blu-ray machine needs an upgrade! Happy holidays to you all.
