I bought these when they were $24 shipped back in October and have found them to be a great purchase. They're certainly not as loud or hard hitting as Klipsch computer speakers, but they're well worth the $25.

I bought these couple of months ago when they were discounted to $24 I recall. For that price, the sound is really good. That being said, you can't expect miracles for 2.1 system you paid $24, but they actually easily exceeded my expectations I had for a $24 set.
So if you're looking for a cheap upgrade on your computer audio, this is it.
I like the idea of the remote for controlling the volume (I hate having to crawl under my desk to tweak the subwoofer volume on my current setup) but I'm wondering how well this particular one works. It looks huge in the pictures. Well, not huge, but it looks like the control is as big as the speakers. And it looks like a coaster for my drink. Can any current owners give a little insight into the controller?
Same item. Here is the story. Dell has diff pricing for diff divisions. Very common.
My daughter in law says buy under her companies Dell emp purchase program. (actually anyone can buy from it) But if the truth were know, just because they say you get a deal, does not a deal make.
Is there any limit to the length/distance from the computer for these speakers other than the obvious length of the cables. IOW, can you add cabling to position these around a room (actually into the next room)?

Most FatWalleters know that you generally get better deals by shopping FW and other deal sites than by using employee purchase programs...your response is right on the money.

Are these as good as Logitech entry level? Any inputs?

Thanks I'm out of town, so I can't measure it exactly, but the control pod is about 2x2".
It's very flat and should be easy to find a spot for it. The speakers themselves are fairly small, so the control pod looks big in comparison, but it hasn't been an issue for me. Takes up very little real estate, especially if you put it under the monitor. It's very handy - comes with volume control, subwoofer control and a nifty on/off switch on the corner that lights up so you know when it's on.

If you listen to music, or even alot of talk on your pc, an after market with a sub woofer sounds better than what comes with a system.
My Alienware came with Logitech Z-5500's and they blow these cheap toy speakers away.Yeah, but you bought Alienware...

I can't believe people give red because they have a difft brand....I give red to 50% Toyota cuz I have a Mercedes. Just like last comment, you have Alienware....oh, I forgot to mention that I paid significantly more!!
Got the speakers, not too large, not too small Not equal to a 29999 Mega Watt home speaker system with HSU sub but Great for a laptop. Bro wants to travel and needs a speaker system better than the black friday laptop he bought ie HP g71 343us, altec lansing system on laptop these are small enough to carry, just needs something to carry them in Not sure whats the wattage but If i remember my power electroncis P=IV, small instruction paper does not say how much watts but says 2amp, 22v so might be 44 watt speaker system, any comments on that? I remember the old Radio Shack small black stereo system, was 10 watts and sounded loud so this might be loud enough for traveling.
