Hmm... i never owned a Sony laptop/netbook before since there was always a premium on them. But.. wow... same price as an Asus or Acer... Could this be my first Sony? =)

I hate this MS store, no clear indication which ones work with the coupon.. there were some great deals with this coupon but all were touch and go

I called them and the rep said that code doesn't work on the Sony laptop, but there are select other laptops it will work with...so maybe try your luck w/ the others

I just tried the code on a Lenovo ThinkPad T400s 2801-AQU list $1,549, $929 with code. Appears the 40% is off list price which may or may not yield you a good deal! (YMMV)

Searching the sku(?) 849BAA02 ... will bring you the products. I tried two of them and 40% off does work.

However, if the product is on sale, 40% off is from the original price.

You're just late to the party. I've seen the code work on the Pink Sony netbook earlier - did not have a need for it, so I did not purchase it.
