Their other version is the Charity Model.

any decent surge suppressor (not power strip) under 10 bucks is a good deal. but just an fyi for those who are discriminating, I wouldn't put top notch electronics on this 750J protector, certainly not something like a printer. assuming a decent-sized lcd and desktop computer plus a few peripherals like a usb hub or speakers, and I would stay over 1000J as a minimum.

in general, i tend to stay away from belkin because they are over-priced, generic manufacturers (from cables to routers to mouses). the electronics in the APC and CyberPower tend to be superior at a given class. APC of course for those who want the best, but cyberpower is quite under-rated and they really give the best surge-protected bang for the buck. I picked up a 1250 J cyberpower with 7 outlets and additional filters for 11.99 at microcenter.

Is this good enough for a 40" LCD TV??? thanks!

somtimes i wonder about the fatwallet community, and if you have ever been to the dollar store and brosed...you can pick 3 of these up for 9 bucks

..and what level of protection do they offer in joules, please.

Also, you may want to buy a couple vowels and consonants with your savings.

haha commercial my ass

commercial? maybe they will be featured in a superbowl advertisement this year.

Where can we find those with a switch for each outlet?

Guys "commercial" means that if you use this surge protector on a TV, it's only good for surge protection during commercials (advertisements)... DUH!!

Dead....

In general I tend to stay away from following the recommendations of people who don't know that the plural form of mouse is MICE!

my1bug said: ...in general, i tend to stay away from...mouses....

FYI, Staples has their own brand 1200 J surge protector for 9.99 this week. Not as pretty as the belkin, but local and you can use coupons if you have them.
Black version
White version

PS. Yes, I know "mice" is correct grammatically, but in the context of the computer "mouse," for some reason, people look at you funny if you say "mice" to refer to the plural. Walk into Staples and ask "where are your mice?" and they will need a double-take. However, if you say, "where are your mouses?" you probably won't get that. It's sort of like how people refer to desktop computers as "CPU" when it's not really that.

That's cheaper than I got it. In addition to the Staples-branded surge protector on sale this week (1200J for 9.99), I noticed that they are clearing out some Belkin 1000J surge strips for $8.50. If I was in the market for one, I would go with the Staples one over the Belkin (both have safety slide-covers to protect sockets that you are not using) but the Belkin does look nicer.

My Belkin surge protectors came from Dell today. Marked 2320 Joules on the box!!! Also, $50,000 connected equipment warranty. But they are marked 5 foot cords. Still great deal! LOL.
