Dell EPP sent out coupons for $50 off systems under $999 and $100 off systems over $999. They have this laptop as a Fasttrack item (meaning you can't configure anything other than warranty) for $509 after $204 instant rebate. Use coupon code XJ??PKBPJ5LVVH for $50 off the above price (bringing it down to $459). If you are lucky (this is the YMMV part) you can stack the other $50 coupon (one-time use coupon) on top of the above public coupon bringing down the price to $409.

I disagree, I have had several HPs and I have no complaints with the battery life (compared with any other brand). I have noticed that my battery life is effected more with the type of processor than anything else. Toshiba has been the worst for me.
I guess everyone has horrible stories with every computer manufacturer. It's all one big crap-shoot anyways.

I received the coupon the other day, but when I addded it, it removed the one you posted. Price stayed at $459 for me.

It seems I am not lucky, didn't seem to want to let me apply them both together.

Ya know, I've had Dell's off and on for several years. Sometimes they're good, others, not so much. Right now I'm finding Dell's support to be very helpful and generous. It feels like a revamp. And the newer Dells are pretty slick.
Good luck if you ever want to return something to Dell........I finally gave up after several hours of being bounced around trying to get an RMA and sold the laptop to a co-worker.
I've had three dells with no problems; my dd's HP laptop hard drive just crapped out after 7 months of use (no llonger under warranty, of course); now shopping for a new computer for her, but all this talk of crappy Dell support is making me nervous. How are they with regard to honoring extended warranty?
