What is the monthly rate after the year is up? Is there a page or promo code when I call in to see if this is offered in my area?

Sorry to threadcrap.
The "Digital" boxes that they give you for "free" only go up to what your tuner in your tube tv's go up to with their analog tuners. ex: in the Burbs of Chicago ScyFy channel is on channel 160/hd is 177. If I wanna watch this channel in another room other then my main home theater room where i already have their proprietary HD/DVR box, I need to pay them for and additional proprietary converter box $9.00/per month in additional to my other charges. Also these "free" boxes that they give you do NOT output in HD. In other words be happy with an sdtv output signal that their free boxes provide.
Their version of a free box basically blocks about 99% of the channels that you pay for or watch for that matter. Concast sucks. They rape you for every penny that they can get out of you.
I wish that U-verse would come to the Lemont/Downers Grove area.

the extra box charge is clearly in the OP. try getting this same package with FIOS (with movie channels, DVR, etc and see what you pay). threadcrapping is right.

What was NOT explained in the OP were the details of what you can and cannot see with the "free" Comcast digital boxes.
People need to be informed of this.

The reason you don't get the same quote from different reps is two fold: 1. Each rep is given incentive on the amount of package they can sign you up for 2. If you're comparing the package you got on the phone to one from a different region, know that each state/region is run independently. They have freedom to run different package deals.
I currently have Comcast TV & internet (10 mps, not 16 as with this offer). If this offer is even available in my area I might consider stopping Comcast internet (I do not have a contract), to make myself eligible for this deal.
Has anyone successfully done, this? Or, is Comcast likely to say "sorry, you don't qualify since you recently had our internet service."?
OP do you happen to have a scan of the flier? I tried to get the deal but was unsuccesful, I was told new customers only and features weren't the same? Thanks

Very good price, fast internet, but esp. NO Contract! You can't beat that. I am stuck with Direct TV and ATT. They are ok but I pay about 120/mo. Their services are great, no doubt about that. My subdivision is new and Comcast won't offer their services until the land is fully loaded with houses. So have fun with extra cash.

the NO CONTRACT is a key issue. FIOS now locks you in for 2 years w/stiff penalties for ETF. if a better deal comes along 6 months from now and you're on Comcast, you have the right to leave, no ?? asked.

I second this. I called earlier and was also unsuccessful. The flier would be good to have.

Northern California. I hope it is active in my area, this is exactly the plan I've been waiting for.

I called back again, no success. I spoke with a very nice rep who spent a lot of time looking for this promotion up in here in NorCal and it wasn't there. I may try heading to best buy and speaking with the sales rep there, but I've pretty much lost hope.

it is available in Philly area. (maybe if FIOS is in your area as a competitor)
bottom line is...you have to stay ontop of any of these media providers. Dish, Directv, Verizon and cable (comcast, cox, Time Warner, Brighthouse, etc) all can be very pricey and dicey if you aren't ahead of the curve. You have to be willing to cancel and switch from time to time to get the best deals out there.
If you're not willing or too lazy, then expect to get raked over the coals for not being proactive.
Called today and the best they could offer for current customer was "economy" triple play for $79.95: 99 digital channels, 1MB internet (slow), & unlimited phone.

Thanks for doing the homework for the bay area.
Sure thing. I'll report back from best buy tomorrow after I speak with the comcast rep with flier in-hand.
I'm moving into the Reading, PA area after calling the original number in the post. I spoke to a rep and for $59.99 +5 modem rental I'm getting 100+ tv channels and 12M Internet. Granted this is for 6 months , no contract. ( I don't want the added expense of a landline) (I might do OOMA or MJ.)
I want to remove the rental fee, what would be the best modem to buy? Is there a list available?
Thanks Mr C This is a better deal then any other rep I just wish it was a year ....

Man I wish I had another option, my next best is Qwest and their blazing fast 144k IDSL. Sad thing is I have a Seattle address and they still havent figgured out how to get real DSL to my house. It amazes me that Qwest has any customers left.
Thanks OP! I also got this deal in Cape May County, NJ. I was told I could get Showtime for $6.95 at first, but after CSR put me on hold to confirm my deal and phone number info he told me Showtime would cost $10. I asked for a better price, but he said no. I said no too, since Dexter and Californication don't come on until the Summer or next Fall. He did give me Cinemax for $5 a month. Anyone have any luck with Showtime for $6.95? Should I try again either with chat or another CSR after this triple play gets activated on Feb. 20th? I thought I saw a TV ad for Showtime for 6 months at a cheap price. Thanks again!

If you live in NJ (East Brunswick down to Cape May/Little Egg harbor area), shoot me a PM, I can do the same deal for you. You have to have either one service through comcast, or two services and are still on a promo deal.

I was at the Home and Garden Show in Salt Lake City over the weekend and they are doing the same thing in Utah through the end of the month, 250 channels with HD DVR, Free Starz and HBO for a year, 16 Mbps speed internet and Comcast digital Voice for $89.99 per month. No contract and goes to $109 per month after the first year. Kevin was who took care of me, his # is 801-702-7726. Of course I went through the whole thing and was stoked and then on verification realized I have had Comcast at home for 8+ years and felt like an idiot. Still added the cable and digital voice and upgraded to 16 Mbps for about $100 per month. Not the same deal as new customers but worth the call for sure IMHO. This deal was only for Home & Garden Show people, if he asks you can say Seth sent you, he said my friends could sign up this week on the deal . I'm not getting anything out of it since I'm an existing customer anyway.
