Microsoft Store has Dell Adamo 13.4" 128GB SSD Laptop for $1499. Add it to cart, check out, after inputting your credit card information, apply 50% off coupon code "CLR-MSStore-50%", price drops to $749.50 with free shipping.
Intel Core 2 Duo ULV 1.2 GHz, 13.4" 1366x768, 2GB DDR3, 128 GB SSD, Windows 7 Home Premium, 802.11n, Webcam, 4 lbs Link
From the looks of the SSD, its the same as most SSD drives without the case and a different connector. Its possible you can get adapters to use it elsewhere. Most likely its the typical Samsung drive -- medium performance SSD. If you buy the full sized laptop then the Samsung SSD drives are in the 1.8 enclosures. They don't show a close enough shot in that teardown to see whose controller card its using.
Right now the two "top" end SSD controllers are Intel and Indilink's Barefoot controller. Intel doesn't sell theirs as far as I know. Samsung uses their own that is fairly decent. Corsair P series SSDs are rebadged Samsungs - -what I have)

How is this deal compared to the one above: http://www.costco.com/Browse/Product.aspx?Prodid=11506239&cm_mmc=BCEmail_Feb2010MVMLP-_-FOCUS-_-1-_-AcerLaptop
I don't understand what is so great about this laptop. Small HD capacity, ok processor. The laptop looks great but than 700+$ is not a small amount. I was wondering what the experts think of the followign laptop:
Not necessarily. BCB worked with the coupon last time.

If anyone gets this and wants install Win7 32bit (x86) lemme know (some drivers tricky).
It comes with x64 which doesn't buy you much on a machine fixed with 2gb ram.

I agree that the size of the screen is different and that is a big difference. Battery Life: 1 hr difference. Weight: 2 pounds. I don't think 6 pounds is that bad. I was looking at it in terms of value for money. I thought at 599, the laptop was very good value.
I would buy it if there was a blu-ray or even dvd drive. This is just a bigger Netbook with SSD and bigger screen.

It may well be, but this really is an apples and oranges comparison. There are serious tradeoffs when looking for lightweight machines: you typically get less machine for more money. But some people, myself included, find value in the small. Different strokes for different folks.

FYI.... with these adamos, it is the design/material quality/etc you are paying for just as much as spec. Not like the typical cheap laptop deals where it is all about specs and typical cheap plastic. Think of it as sort of a PC answer to some of the nicer Apple laptops. You know how the powerbooks and macbook pros have always been real nice sturdy metal laptops with a high quality feel but you dont see similar pc laptops? I have anyways and always wished I could find a reasonable priced similarly built pc laptop. I even bought a new powerbook once upon a time and really tried to like apple software, but alas after a month of forcing myself I realized I just wasnt an Apple person. Anyhow, some pc notebook makers are finally starting to come out with nice similarly built notebooks, and these are one of em. I have not seen one of these in person, but if they build quality, materials, and durability is what it is cracked up to be, these really are a good deal despite the typicly light specs...especially with the 128 ssd.

actually, the adamo is Dell's response to the mac air. People don't seem to have a problem shelling out $1500+ for that, which has horrible specs compared to macbook pro and is more expensive.
If you are not in the market for a thin good looking laptop then move along.
Even if 2Gb is enough for the basic tasks, you cannot do anything advanced. It's not enough to disable paging and create RAM drive for the temp files which will definitely benefit you with SSD (not sure if it supports TRIM).

There is NO reason to install x86 over 64-bit these days unless you have some sort of specific legacy business software or VERY legacy hardware that doesn't work under win64. Everyone else should run win64 edition. "only 2 GB of RAM" isn't a good reason.
It is probably the best looking laptop Dell has ever put out but they could have done much better as the build quality is terrible. Around the speakers area, the back of the lid (three difference textured surfaces!) held together with glue or whatever they used for instance.
As mentioned by others, battery life is not satisfactory at all, the speakers are behind the screen (when the lid is opened), the display isn't "crisp", the keyboard should have been pushed-up towards the base of the lid to leave more room for a bigger trackpad and to rest wrists.
Yet, despite all of this, it's a pleasure to use around the house and the office because it's so thin and light.
Hope this helps someone.

Their anti-fraud measures probably flagged you if you tried the coupon several times without buying etc. Use a different CC or buy it in your wife's/ someone else's name.
Edit: Forgot to add, mine came-in NOT looking brand-new. No damage on the laptop itself. But the AC adapter is white and showed some slight indications of prior use (dirt and scratches). The Microsoft Store labels the computers it sells "Signature" as it loads Windows Live crapolla on them before shipping. So if you complain, they'll say they had to open the box but to me it seems it's units Dell gave Microsoft to resell. In fact the Dell Service Tag shows mine had first shipped in Nov 2009 when I actually bought mine in Jan 2010....

Uhm, yes there is. 64bit OS use more ram. (This is why, even with 4gb of ram, people will often sacrafice some of it and install x86)
The transition to 64-bit computing should have happened a long time ago, and you can start pointing fingers and placing blame as to why it didn't, but you should consider the limitations it removed / the possibilities it opened (such as new, more efficient instruction sets). (Albeit, getting AMD and Intel to standardize anything would be a miracle). If we could just get rid of all the legacy x86 backward compatible crap that has to be supported, hardware/software manufacturers working together, it would be a perfect computing utopia.
