FYI - I believe this will only work on a verizon internet connection. It will be shipped Fed Ex and you will have to sign upon delivery.

I'm pretty sure it'll work with any internet connection - it's a router, not a modem.

In for 2.

Only 2 replies so far? Wow. There's over 140 on SD already. FW has really gone down the tubes I'm afraid RIP, FW.

Edit: yep, red me all you want, I'm just being honest, and I know, the truth hurts, hell, I've got over 7000 posts here, you think I'm happy about it? And, 300+ posts on SD already, and barely a whimper here, wow! Not to mention my "instant deal alert" e-mail took over an HOUR to get to me, hell many deals can be dead in an hour!

this is a westell 7501 model, it's a generic router that will work with any internet service
the 7500 is a gateway (combination modem + router) that would also work but is mainly designed for Verizon's DSL service. I have a 7501 and it's a pretty good g device, does not support dd-wrt.

they were selling these in combination with the verizon hub which has now been discontinued

can i use this to extend the range of my existing wi-fi in my house?

In for 1. Good price for a backup router.

depends:
if you have cat5 wiring around your home then yes, just set to bridge mode
otherwise you either need a wireless repeater or a dd-wrt capable router (they pop up on FW and SD all the time)

in for one, green for you

Thanks OP, in for 2 as well. Green for you

What the heck. Done.

In 4 one! Thx

Thanx OP. In for one. Was looking for a cheap backup for a long time.

I gave up, keep saying my address was invalid..

..

How's the performance of this router compared to the "gold standard" Linksys WRT54GL? Does it also have LAN at the back for wired connection?

What the heck. In for 1. Needed a "spare"! Thanks OP

Anything's got to be better than my aging 5 year-old Airport Extreme. I just hope my order doesn't get canceled.

EDIT: whoops, double post

Just chatted with a service rep, that verbiage is standard on all orders. She (Brittney) stated that no other charges are associated with this product.
