Wish they would open up a Frys out here on the East Coast (NYC hopefully). It would certain fill the void left over when CompUSA and Circuit City closed their doors. Now Best Buy is the only retailer in town.
That said, go there early for the brand new sealed CPU and MB.
I bought 2 AMD Phenom II x2 550 BE (easy to unlock 2nd set of cores for X4 using right MB) for $68.90 from Manhattan Beach store Mon. Wife picked it up and both were returns. Oh well most other so Cal Fry's were out of these. Fry's supposedly checks all returns and usually gives 10% discount but not when bundled as CPU/MB specials. Didn't buy $30 AR Cel dual core with cheap mother board combo as both were returns couple of month ago.
Don't forget 15-day return policy on CPU, RAM and MB.
Great price on the E6300 combo. I paid about $85 for the CPU alone not too long ago. Awesome overclocker. The MB is $59 at Newegg with half-decent reviews.
I've been thinking about building a cheap HTPC using an Intel Atom cpu, but this combo should perform far better. Just need to add a cheap graphics card with HDMI out.
