Any idea how good or useful the Encyclopedia Britannica® Student & Home Edition is? I mean, almost everything for school is available free online anyway, isn't it?
There's also a $20 upgrade rebate for Norton Online Backup 25GB. It can be found on www.symantecrebates.com under offer # 09-84622. Makes for a good moneymaker.
In-store: Some posters in my other FAR software threads are reporting success using competitors coupons. Depends on the store, manager, cashier, phase of the moon ....
On-line: Office Depot's freebie coupons (now listed in the Quick Summary) can be used on software. OD's dollar off and percentage off coupons generally have a restriction against use on software. CashBack sites are another way to go (Bing, MyPoints). Some have reported success using coupons and CashBack sites combined, others not.
why some sofwtwares are noted as "in store only"? does it mean that the rebates are valid for in store purchase only, or that the softwares are only for sale in store? thanks.
dillongeo said: why some sofwtwares are noted as "in store only"? does it mean that the rebates are valid for in store purchase only, or that the softwares are only for sale in store? thanks.Norton Online Backup could be in-store only because of the instant rebate. Last time this title was offered FAR, it was not until the second week (most of these should be FAR through 03/06) that OD's website was updated to reflect the instant rebate.

Acceptance of coupons from the Web-Competitors is subject to the terms and conditions listed on the coupon. Office Depot does not accept Competitor coupons for free/promotional or non-identical products.

I pushed back once to Office Depot Headquarters, headquarters gave me a credit for what the coupon would have saved me, and I haven't had trouble since.

Additionally, my OfficeDepot will read the Staples coupon I present and state something along the lines of "The rebate says it's not combinable w/ other offers such as the rebate included with this software" as reason for invalidation. There is a store ~20mi away which has managers that take it with VERY friendly responses though, so I really think it just depends..
Thanks, OP!!!!!!!! This really rocks! I'm headed there tomorrow to pick up a WinWay. No more going to the library and using public keyboards for me. Yay!
For those of you unfamiliar with this product, I can tell you it is a really powerful program. Especially important in these financial straits.

But the rebate should be valid whehter we buy it online or in-store, right?

What do you do if the rebates both want "original receipt" such as the McAfee 3 user...How do I send both places the original?
ERGreyhounds said: What do you do if the rebates both want "original receipt" such as the McAfee 3 user...How do I send both places the original?I just looked at the McAfee upgrade rebate and it says "Enclose a copy of your receipt with the purchase". Also, given that the receipt for an online OD purchase is a printed sheet of paper, a photocopy of it will look no different than the original.

How can you get two rebates from McAfee when they both want "original receipt"?

Yes it will be valid either way. You can order online for in-store pick-up and the price will show as $39.99. If you order it for delivery, it's $49.99

if they want original receipt and you want multiple items....i dunno...maybe buy them separately??!??!?!?!
ERGreyhounds said: How can you get two rebates from McAfee when they both want "original receipt"?I already answered you when you asked it the first time and they do NOT both require the original receipt. The answer to your question is to re-read the form, and if you still think it says they both need the original receipt, post the wording here so we can correct you.
It is extremely rare for a software rebates to require an original receipt. Certainly none of the rebates processed by Parago (who does McAfee) require them.
great deal! OD used 25$ offf $100 coupon from Staples..."but this is the last time I"ll let u do this" the Manager said hahahaha see ya next week with a new one.
Also got hte 15$ gift card to OD so Net 10 $ for everything + Tax

OfficeDepot has a big FREE after rebates sign for the Webroot software but both requires original UPC .. anyone in the past who did their rebates know what to do in this case? thanks!
update 2/24 - response from OD -------------------- Thank you for your e-mail to us here at EC-Orders at Office Depot. We welcome your comments and look forward to assisting you in any way that we are able. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.
Since the rebates are both going to the same place can you enclose both rebates with the highest rebate with the original UPC code attached and the second with a copy referenced back to the first (Rebate # 2 - copy here of UPC code due to rebate #1 also enclosed, where original UPC code is attached).
We appreciate you taking the time to share your comments, and thank you for shopping Office Depot!
Sincerely,

Please help!! How the price match works in Office Depot?
I am looking on the Panasonic HDC-TM10K camcorder, which shows $524.95, (SKU# 195903) But Costco sells at $369.99 (SKU#469852). I called OD customer service department, the agent and the manager who both are in Philippines. First, the agent said they are different item, because the description on item is different on both web site. (I really don't think she is qualified as customer service agent.) Then, she said OD doesn't match competitor's sale price. After insisting speak to the manager, and be hold for totally 10 minutes, I spoke the manager. First, he said the same thing which OD doesn't match competitor's sale price. Then, he just said the Costco's price is too low, so he can't match it. However, the Office Depot catalog "LOW PRICE GUARANTEE" says "We will match the Web-Competitor's adjusted point of sale price, which is calculated by deducting any instant savings offers that are applied at the point of sale, such as instant rebates and coupons." It doesn't say not matching sale price!
Please kindly give me some advices. Thank you!

In case Office Depot do the price match, will the free gift I get from the purchase disqualify to match competitor's price?
---- Proof of prior ownership of a retail (boxed or downloaded) stand-alone version of Trend Micro PC-cillin, or any Norton™ or McAfee™ product, by providing one of the following: product CD, product disk (disk 1 only), title page of owner’s manual from a retail purchase, or the email confirmation for a download purchse. ++ * A valid UPC begins with the numbers 733199, all other UPC do not qualify.
Does Trend Micro accept a photocopy of a competitor's CD as the proof of previous ownership like Norton and McAfee? I think they do but I just want some confirmation from someone here who has received their rebate checks.
