sardarji said: Do we need two printers for trade in?READ in OP: Note: requires 2 printers to trade-in, one can be HP, one non-HP to maximize trade-in value.
This should work for the HP Officejet Pro 8500 All-in-One Printer (Item: 772940) listed on the Staples site also. It is 299.98 with a $100 instant rebate. Same as the other printer you will need 2 old printers to make the most of the deal.
I think the same deal applies for the 8500 -- $50 + $25 bonus = $75 if trading in a non-HP printer. I've just had bad luck with HP inkjet AIOs, so I'm sticking to laser.
As far as I can tell, some HP printers actually qualify for the HP trade in:
- HP desktop LaserJets/Color LaserJets, non-HP laser desktop printers, HP/non-HP inkjets, and HP/non-HP scanners qualify for the trade-in product, and in any condition. Floor standing units are not eligible. - This is a one-for-one and like-for-like product trade only. The customer must purchase one eligible HP printer, and trade-in one HP or non-HP desktop laser / ink printer to qualify. Customer cannot purchase a qualifying HP printer and trade-in one HP or non-HP scanner. Or the customer must purchase one eligible HP Scanjet, and trade-in one HP or non-HP scanner to qualify. Customers cannot purchase a qualifying HP Scanner and trade-in one HP or non-HP printer.

My understanding is that any HP printer will qualify as a trade-in, but you will be forfeiting the bonus cash offered for non-HP printers, as listed in the right-most column on the rebate page.
Just pick up a free printer on Craigslist or freecycle, and you should be good to go!

Yes. You will need two printers -- one to give to Staples and one to send to HP. The question really is moot, though, until the item comes back in stock online.
From their website: This offer MAY NOT be combined with (or "stacked" with) other promotional offers or trade-in programs except National HP Instant Rebates as defined below or with channel specific programs that have been approved for combinability by HP but only up to the maximum allowable rebate amount listed on the Eligible Products Chart above. National HP "Instant rebates" are defined as, but not limited to, instant savings, product specific coupon product specific and promotional pricing. When combined with an approved promotional offer, the combination of that savings and the Trade-In and Save offer cannot exceed the maximum allowable Cash Back allowance for that product.

Use some of the Officemax $10 off $20 or Office Depot $15 off $75 or $10 off $50 if you have a problem. It may not be $25 off but you didn't pay for it and works every time. I used a $25 off $150 Officemax card on my Epson Artisan 810. Those expired on the 13th.

"Buy any new printer for $199 or more, regular price, receive $50 instant savings on your purchase."Yes, you can still get trade in promo.
It means, purchase any printer that has a regular price of $199 or more. It can be on sale, but the regular price has to be $199 or more for it to qualify for the promo.
If purchased in store, they take the $50 trade in off first; so your balance after the trade will have to be enough to satisfy the coupon requirements. Online purchases work out to where the coupon comes off first.

When you take it to the store for the trade adjustment they will refund and repurchase the item and the store receipt will show the $50 promo discount.
It does not specifically say the $50 promo adjustment is for the trade in program but I would not risk it.
When I did the adjustment in the store they credited my credit card and then when I paid for the in store transaction they let me pay with gift cards, I should have just presented another coupon then also.
I get 4% CashBack from Bank of America when buying on the Staples website and then I save another 6% when paying in store with gift cards.

Did you take the old printer to Staples for the trade-in credit before the new printer is delivered? I thought today is the first day they can deliver orders that were placed either Sunday or yesterday.
I would think they will cancel the 4% AIU rebate because you did a return/rebuy.

What does AIU stand for?

Hi, I saw it is $25 for non-HP printer trade in:http://www.HP.com/united-states/tradein/promo/laserjet2/faq.html Where did you see it's $75? Thanks.
