Not looking to start a "run on the bank", but Bahama Breeze is owned by Darden. Last I was in a Darden restaurant, they accepted gift cards from any of their other restaurants (Longhorn, Olive Garden, Red Lobster). Soooo, you should be able to redeem the Bahama Breeze GC in another (more convenient) Darden location...

They call it a "gift card" but I received a one in the past from Bahama Breeze and it wasn't a gift card good at any Darden restaurant but more like a coupon called a giftcard good only at this one.

Most likely that is the case here...possible another Darden restaurant would honor it but I seriously doubt it is a regular gift card good at any Darden location.

Yeah, hate to look a gift (card) horse in the mouth, but it is irritating. They shouldn't call it a gift card if it's really a coupon. Still a nice freebie if you can use it.
I never understand why people red posts that state very reasonable thoughts. I just have to remind myself that big forums like this have an abundance of idiots who participate.

Well, for one thing, it's illegal to give away a true gift card that can be used on alcohol in most states. That would violate liquor laws because it's illegal to give away alcohol in most states. (Some states make exceptions for promotional samples.) But it's become pretty standard in the restaurant industry to call a card that is effectively a gift card an actual one, even though it isn't quite a typical gift card. It's just easier to use the same language.
As to whether the card (whatever you want to call it) is good at other restaurants in the chain, I have no idea. It should say on the card. And it's free, so why not get one and find out? If the card isn't specific, you can always call the restaurant you want to use it at and ask.
I'd strongly suggest asking the MANAGER when you call, not the host/hostess who answers the call. He/she probably won't have any idea what the difference is and will probably tell you it's ok, even if it acytually isn't. Again, the manager probably won't honor it, even if the host/hostess told you otherwise. Remember, hosts/hostesses generally aren't very well trained in the company's policies (or their menu). If they were, they'd be servers -- and be making a whole lot more!
But be sure to mention when you ask that it's NOT a true gift card, but a promotional one. Because they are different. And no matter how much you complain, the manager isn't likely to violate his state's liquor laws for you! So, you can't just ask if they'll take a gift card, then complain if they don't take this promotional one. They're not legally the same thing, even if they use the same terminology.

Do people actually eat that crap?
Wow! How clever and original!
That's like the first time anyone has come up with that sort of witty comment about those two places! Well, I live close to the coastline, so I'll give the poster a pass on Red Lobster. It's OK, but if you want real seafood, well then...
As far as Olive Garden, I think it's reasonable. However, I have Italian friends who have never gone to one (and never will). I believe it may have something to do with being unable to sit at a table with your back to the wall (gotta watch out for mob hits while dining at Italian joints)

And FYI, I have DiCrispino in my blood and my family's been to both. (Both excellent)

Really?, I always thought Olive Garden was Italian, if I'd known it was greek I would not have wasted my time insisting on a booth in the corner. Just glad I never used the washroom

Do people actually eat that crap? Yes, I suspect that is why they are open, to serve food to people.
