Hope this isn't a repost!

Seems like a good deal for new with no taxes

Great deal. I was going to post this earlier, but decided to not start a thread that would be full of trolls.

Thanks for posting! I highlighted this deal in the most recent Laptop Roundup here (from today), but forgot to make a separate thread.

I'm sure everyone knows by now, but for those around a microcenter store..and don't mind the missing firewire port and the white color - its 799 there with the same specs...

Actually, the non-Pro one from Microcenter has 250GB HDD comparing to this more expensive MBP that has 160GB.

I'm in the market for one, but I'm waiting for Macbook Pro upgrade which I hope is coming soon.

paying for this thing via paypal is a pain. who has this much in their paypal account besides heavier sellers/buyers on eBay? no use trying to fund your paypal account because by the time your bank transfer happens, the deal will be gone. paypal used to let you instantly fund your account, but not anymore. any workarounds to funding your paypal account faster?

Link your debit card/bank account to your personal paypal account is the most stupid thing you want to avoid. (Merchant account is a different story.)

don't forget eBay buck $20.98 from the purchase + BCB

make the deal almost $100 less than $1,049

You can pay using your credit card via Paypal. Paypal is just a payment gateway.

How do you use the "Bing Cash Back"???? Please help??? to get it down to 965??? Please help???

Many thanks,

I second waiting, unless you really need it right now. New models (probably with Core i3/i5) should be coming very, very soon.

The question is what will be price for the new macbook pro and if they are really going to have the i3 or i5, if they do most likely the 13" will have the i3. If the new macbook pro 13" is $1,300 I don't think it will be worth it the extra $400 or $450 (remember most likely you are going to have to pay tax from Apple Store) for the extra 20% processor speed. It's going to take a while for the new macbook pro to be on eBay to be able to get 8% CashBack. Just my 2 cents.

Which turns out to be around $880 after tax, so paying $100 more for the aluminum case, a slightly, possibly better screen, and a firewire port is totally worth it in my book.

I used to own a plastic MacBook myself, couldn't STAND that thing. It got cracks, the plastic sucked - meanwhile I've got a PowerBook G4 laying around that I've been using forever! Those metal cases RAWK.

If you look at an HP Envy, the premium for metal there is something like $500 for the same specs as a dv6t or something of the sort, and they don't even look as good as the Apple ones.

So yea, $880 -> $965 isn't really so terrible, plus if you qualify for eBay bucks it's even more incentive.

... RAWK. ...

Looks like it's sold out...

Now it's back up and they raised the price by $100.

looks like they still have start shipping the first order on March 1st and today is March 3rd.

i hope they don't cancel our first order and force us to pay $100 more for re-ordering.

did you guys get confirmation emails? I have not yet. It is just too slow!

The lcd panel is also different between the plastic MB and the MBP. There are some reviews that show that the viewing angles as well as the color reproduction are much better on the MBP.

I have received order confirmation number but not shipping/tracking confirmations yet.

I agreed they're too slow and their site's SSL is broken for checking the order status.

what a crap company!

Got the shipping notice 5 mins ago. Finally.

finally got my tracking numbers now, I see there are some good feedback on the seller's eBay account for receiving their Macbooks already.

They are using 2nd day air w/ UPS.

Mine was shipped via Fedex, arrived on Friday.

With the screens, it's really a gamble since it depends on which company supplies the screen. I recently bought the white macbook from microcenter and the blacks on that thing is amazing. It definitely beats the color that's on my 13" unibody aluminum macbook (the generation right before the new "pro" models). Also if you can access apple's education store and wait a couple of months, you'll be able to get that macbook for 1099 + free ipod touch + free printer.
