Doesn't look like you can add any external inputs for sound to use this as a proper HT. I have used one such system to get my sound from cable box and x-box. But the one I used had 3 extra inputs for sound.
But if you only gonna play dvds in surround sound then its a good deal. They come almost new(few scratches if any). Mine has lasted for more than 5 yrs. I bought it for $112 or something, a philips refurb ofcourse
Save time....take the money you would spend on this Chinese Junk and put it in the toilet and flush it down the sink. Philips sold their name and Elcoteq makes the stuff with Philips name. No way is it 1000 watts RMS. No way and no how.
