Mini 10v add on for $149 -- Running XP good system to wipe and add Linux on...

http://www.dell.com/content/topics/segtopic.aspx/days_of_deals?c...

They are having a deal of the day for the next 10 days. This is the first one advertised. Not bad specs, needed one for my daughters birthday coming up.

I see BCB coming up at 10% for Dell with search for key word "Inspirion 15" -- makes for a great deal here...

Thanks OP....

Interesting deal. The Mini comes with a 3-cell battery for that price, it is $35 to upgrade to a 6-cell.

Also, more of a tech question I guess, but the default configuration for the 15" laptop is 3GB of dual channel RAM. How is that possible? I've never seen 1.5GB RAM sticks, and I doubt this machine has 4 slots. With a laptop with two slots, wouldn't your options be 2GB or 4GB of dual channel, or 3GB in single channel?

any chance its 4GB of memory and Win7 32bit?

It's 2Gb + 1Gb.

There is an upgrade option to 4GB. I would think the 3GB default option would not be running in dual channel. Not a big deal, I'm just confused by the claim.

Edit: specs specifically say "Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium, 64bit, English"

Leave it to Dell to mess it up, added the Mini10v and it was $249.00 not $149.00

Ordered 1, thanks

Both in cart and mini i still $249.00 and apparently only free s/h on the larger.

I couldn't find the 10% BCB. Any help? I am new to using Bing so I'm not sure how exactly to use it. I searched Inspiron 15 but it seems to be bringing up mostly eBay auctions for that model.

They are using a highly sophisticated technology called "2+1=3"

OK, so how did anyone if you did get the 10v added for $149.00

you must be configuring your order with the $399 notebook in your cart then, i.e., next component, and eventually you will come upon the offer of the netbook for $149. or u can pass on the offer if u dont want it

i think this offer SMOKES in comparison to the Wal mart emachines notebook offer from this past week, which was for $298 with no webcam, which one can add on the Dell for $25.00 or not add and just use the one on the netbook which is included, a better name laptop with a netbook thrown in for an extra $149

Is the next component seen after the other is in your cart?
Or while you are finished configuring it and before you add to your cart.
Either way, I do not see it.

How do you add a webcam to the mini 10v??

I found how to do it, it was right there in the component list view as an add on. (as I was told)

BinkyBill said: How do you add a webcam to the mini 10v??

You do have to add it to the 15 inch pc, $25.00

in the "add accessories and services section of the "select my mini for $149"?

BinkyBill said: in the "add accessories and services section of the "select my mini for $149"?

is the 3% DPA discount automatic or do you have to go through the credit card trick?

For those who can't see 10% BCB, just go to Bing and search Inspiron until you see below.

Dell Inspiron·www.Dell.com/Inspiron Bing CashBack
Choose Your HD Computer at Dell.com Powered by Intel Technology!

Then click Bing CashBack, it will show up 10% BCB.

First choose the option paid by credit card, they you will be offered 3% discount if you choose to pay by DPA.

And if you just go straight to the DPA no discount? (May have to re-do the order)

thanks i can see now

just to mention, integrated webcam is $25 more, not include in the $399. warm deal at most.

forgive me for being naive but is this a good deal? thanks!

what is this good for?

drti said: just to mention, integrated webcam is $25 more, not include in the $399. warm deal at most.

Warm at most?
But for "right now" it is more than that....

it is included webcam for 10v

I think if you don't need the mini10v, this the $449 for studio 17 in SB is better; it has the webcam and 9 Cell bat included, and it's Studio (red). I have one and I really like it.

Anyone try returning the $399 computer and keeping the mini for $149?

Does that come with one 2GB stick or two 1GB sticks?

Got it. thanks

I received the Inspiron in a week or so, but the mini 10v keeps getting delayed. It's set to be delivered on April 16th, but I doubt that since it's been delayed three times already. Anyone else not get theirs yet?
