Yes it is hackintoshable. Good info at mydellmini.com

Looks like it works on any 10v...for now.

How did u manage to get it for only $168. ?

it was a 3-cell 10v xp refurb listed at $199. keep refreshing and be quick when one pops at your price.

Thanks I picked up a 10v with 6cell and win7 for $199. Best price on that configuration I have seen.

I can't get the code to work on a $219 scratch and dent mini.

Thanks. I missed the $150 deal from a couple of days ago.

I picked up a 10v Atom 1600 with 6cell battery and win7 for:
Sub-Total : $183.20
Illinois Tax : $11.43
Order Total : $194.63

$279 is the cheapest (minus 20%). I missed the good deal.

"Inspiron Mini 10 - 1012" - this is NOT the 10v, right? I'm looking for model #1011, if I recall correctly.

Make sure you get the 6cell version - I have the 3cell and the battery burns out fast.

Also, probably the best machine to use for Hackintosh. Everything works except hibernate (but suspend does work).

BTW how does Dell Mini compare to this ASUS at microcenter

I am sure there are alot of folks happy with their refurbs. I bought one a couple months ago and it died after a few hours. I won't bore you with the story of trying to return it, but lets just say after all the hold times, disconnects and transfers over multiple days, I was more than happy to pay the 15% restock fee. Never again.

And the other side of the coin...

The mini 10 I bought for my wife nearly a year ago is going strong... and she loves it (she never had her own computer before). Hated to waste such a nice netbook on her (its SSD and BT and web cam enabled... and got it for a steal through the outlet!)

Me too.....The refurb I got was defect in the wireless card. After every 10-15 minutes of connectivity, it will just stop transmitting....Even though the wireless signals & connectivity to the wireless is still active. After numerous calls, hold time and going through bunches of nonsense troubleshooting and disconnects. I gave up and pay for the 15% restocking fees.....Talk about really bad customer service.

Dell customer service SUCKS PERIOD if it ever exists. I got a brand new Dell desktop long ago and it came with a "broken" restore CD. I contacted their customer service in every way that I can imagine and failed in getting the replacement. They just tossed me here and there giving me non-senses and free endless waiting.

Are these Dell's new or refurbished?

Are these refurbished?

The outlet give three options:
Previously Ordered New
Certified Refurbished
Scratch & Dent

You can uncheck "Certified Refurbished" and "Scratch & Dent", if you only want to see "Previously Ordered New".

Just picked up a 10v (black... not designer) w/ 6-cell, W7 Starter for $197 shipped after tax (229 before coupon). I just need it for a trip next week, and at this price I can get my money back next month. Confirmation e-mail is in, so it looks like they are not strict on the designer cover requirement.

Thanks OP

how u got that i can't see any 10v below 269 lol

Are the only 10v ones Nickelodeon ones now?

To answer the last 2 posts: Just go to the "Laptop" inventory section (where it shows ALL the laptops, not just one model) and sort the entire list by price. The first few entries (lowest priced) will likely be 10v. Quickly click and scan the specifications for each one to make sure you get one with 6-cell battery.

do you have a link to the "laptop" inventory section?

Lowest price now is 269. I also checked highest price its 299. Question there was no config diff between the two. Why price diff?
