Like the title says, starting the week of March 21, 2010 you can get a 4GB SanDisk flash drive (SKU 785430) for $14.99 - $10 Staples gift card by mail = $4.99

They have some good clearance deals, and I tend to get my ink there because, for my printer, it is the same price as places like Amazon, and the business rewards is something that Amazon doesn't have.

if you're technically adept, you can load an OS from usb which might load faster than your native OS. however, since you're asking the question i'll leave it at the original "no" answer.
also, you can take out a lot of programs that may be automatically loading at start and use portable apps that may help speed load time. but you'll have to do some research on that. maybe get some help from a savvy friend.
I think they were asking about that "speedboost" thing that MSFT went on about at Vista's launch....

My understanding of Readyboost is that the windows uses the flash drive to store the "cache" instead of storing it on the HD. So it's kinda acts as a bridge between the memory and HD. It has nothing to do with the memory.

(i guess if they don't get it or if you don't agree with a technology they like)

It has everything to do with the memory.
If a computer has a less memory, it has to swap constantly between memory and HDD.
ReadyBoost acts as a half-way storage so that you won't have to dump everything into HDD which has a slower access speed.
On the other hand, if you have enough memory, there's no need to swap as often. So, the ReadyBoost becomes useless.
Harkevv, Buy your ink at $upermediastore.com. The ink for my Ep$on 340 averages $1.50-$2.50 a cartridge when on sale. No more than $3 usually. Staples takes any ink cartridges. So you make a buck or they're free. No difference in quality. FWIW.

yep. i need to find the tests that shows this, but basically once you approach 4gb of memory readyboost becomes negligible.

its $28 now at Staples, will they adjust the price next week?
The only problem I have with price adjustments at Sstaples is when I use coupons (25/75, 25/100, etc). When I go in to the store next week for an adjustment they don't let me reuse my old coupons since they're "already used", so I always have to go in with another coupon. A minor irritation that costs me an extra ~$1.50 or so. On line I never have such problems with price adjustments after an item goes on sale. Hmm....

At least its not Rewards. Am I correct that if you purchase w/ the GC it will count towards your $1000 Premier status vs. if you purchase w/ Rewards it doesn't count towards the $1000?
Got my flash drive using 15% off coupon. Just a heads up, my store had 2 different 4GB San Disk Flash Drives in bins. The ones that are different colors are cheaper-- $12.99 but don't qualify for the rebate. The ones that are black are $14.99 and you'll get the GC. Make sure you get the right one.

Same here.
Go to Staples website and open the advertisement for this week and 15% discount for any items except pops up.
