couldn't have put it better my self....but don't forget to top it all of with the movie to end it all--SerenityAgree. Second that. Haven't seen the TV series but the movie was very well made.
can i give this set six stars??? i already have the dvd set from black friday at BB. reading this post makes me want to watch it all over again. keep in mind that they cancelled the show so the "complete" set is not really complete. it leaves you hanging for more. i have the Serenity dvd movie and it allows me to have some closure. enjoy.
The real reason this show never took off is that they did not air the shows in the order Mr. Whedon originally wanted. If I hadn't already been a big sci-fi fan the first few episodes would have made me stop watching.
18 bucks! Holy schneikies! Thanks OP, I've been wanting copy ever since I borrowed a friend's a year or two ago... It was all I could do not to watch it in one sitting then. Of course, now I'm reminded of the fact that I will never be complete until I know the full story of Shepherd Book. I had almost gotten over that.

I agree completely, particularly with the order. I saw Serenity first and wasn't impressed. However, with so many incredibly positive comments about the show, I went back and downloaded the TV episodes off Hulu (now only five of them are available) and got hooked. This is a great series and after watching it and really getting to know the characters, I saw Serenity again and really liked it a lot more. I picked up the Firefly DVD box set a few months back from BB for something like $9.99 and it seems like they run that deal maybe twice a year.
We ordered Firefly on Blu-ray the day it came out. It refuses to play on any software player on my HTPC. If anyone knows of a player that works, please let me know. Also, be advised that this is a known issue without a known fix if you plan on playing this on a computer.
Thanks OP. Snagged the Blu-ray version just in time. That was one helluva fast Lightning Deal. And the free $25 from the Marvel Omnibus fiasco came in handy!

I'm sorry I missed this deal, but happy for everyone who got in on it! I like to keep a new box set on hand to give way. Gotta spread the Firefly love!

Any Blu-ray player...might be a dumb question but do you have a Blu-ray drive in your HTPC?
