Newegg currently has a promotion on the Canon 7D packaged with the 28-135 lens. Using promo code EMCYPZN22 will knock $200 off the price. Since the current price of the camera is $1599 and the price of the combo is $1799, you are getting the lens for free. If you couple this with the current Canon printer/SLR mail-in rebate you can add the Pixma Pro9000 for $60 more. Here's the math:

Canon 7D w/28-135 lens - $1799
Pixma Pro9000 - $459.99
Sub Total - $2258.99
Promo code EMCYPZN22 -($ 200.00)
Canon Mail-in rebate -($ 400.00)
FatWallet CashBack -($ 41.18)

Total price - $1617.81 plus shipping (obviously if you can find a free shipping code, even better)

If, like me, you don't need the lens or the printer, they will each bring between $200-300 so you'll end up with an excellent camera for $1000-$1100.

Newegg
Need a Newegg coupon that earns Up to 3.0% Cash Back?

For those who are more familiar with this model I would like to know how good a deal this is. This is the camera I want but don't need to purchase now. I guess what I'm asking is this a warm deal or hot? TIA

jkrmer -

It's an excellent deal; if I didn't already own a 7D I'd jump on it.

Loren

Thanks for the input, greatly appreciated!

I agree with Lorenbc. I'm a Pentax shooter, and this is an excellent deal!
Green for you Rhinoman!

now if we could just get a good Bing.com percentage!

Great deal! Its like getting 7D body for 1100-1200 depending on how much you get for the printer.

Too bad, tax kills the deal for me.

this is a great deal on a great camera...I wish there was a similar deal for a 50D

Are there any free shipping codes out there that would make this deal even more awesome?
BTW, anyone know if the promo code might void the printer-combo rebate?

nice price on the 7D after selling the lense. Too bad I just need the body and too much work to sell the printer and the lense.

gollum said: BTW, anyone know if the promo code might void the printer-combo rebate?

No problem with the rebate because the promo code is for the lens (200off)and the rebate is for the Printer and Camera (doesn't matter if is body or kit).

I got the camera without lens or printer for $1800 just 3 months ago so this is a great deal.

if you can get the camera between $1000-1100 it is a very good deal but you need to sell the rest on craigslist

little work but a very good deal

i have the canon 7D its a great camera .

if you need the body only and you dont mind eBay

get it from http://stores.ebay.com/PMI-Digital__W0QQ_sidZ227383702?_nkw=cano... use bing CashBack to get 8% off

if you can find another cheaper canon 7D this seller would pricematch.. a friend just did it from this seller..it is great very fast shipping with canon warranty and he is a canon authorized dealer

I must alert all of you that $100 canon promotion is unable to combine with printer rebate. This occurred in past @ Amazon (T1i+printer)

Darn, I got the same package without printer at Amazon for 1899.00 in December. Actually this is good deal. The camera is awsome, very well built and there are a lot of features that it takes you a long time to master them. However, the lens are very expensive, especially those L lenses.

I disagree. From Canon's website concerning the instant $100 rebate: "This offer can only be combined with Canon USA sponsored programs running simultaneously." The pdf. from their website can be found here: http://downloads.canon.com/cpr/software/camera/eos_7d_special_poster_march10.pdf

Besides, if you are correct, every authorized Canon dealer has it wrong. Adorama, B&H, Newegg, et al. show the printer rebate as being available on the same listing that has the 7D with the instant rebate.

The combined rebate is through Newegg or atleast sent to Newegg, the other is through Canon. The main $400 rebate is going to need both original upc's, so I would think you're out of luck with the Canon rebate (that needs the upc as well). If your trying to get rid of the printer, beware it may bring in a little less than expected on eBay. Thanks for posting this OP.

beachcamera or Adorama hide $100 canon promotion in their receipt. That is the trick

I'm not sure what you're saying here. Both rebates are through Canon. The $100 rebate is instant; there is no need for the UPC because the "rebate" is taken off the price at check-out. There is nothing you have to send in. The printer/SLR rebate (also through Canon)does require the UPC from both the printer and camera, but that's not a problem. And again, the Canon promo poster is clear that you can combine the instant rebate with any other promotion that Canon is running simultaneously.

If that's the case, then, your "rebate form" link points to a different offer. I think what others are saying is about this rebate offer from the link.

i personally own a 5dm2 and 7d, i love both of them. The video quality from 7d is incredible. $1100 for body only, that a very nice deal if you have your own lens.

OK, I see where the form may be causing confusion, but it is a Canon rebate. If you look up a 7D at Adorama or B&H you'll find the exact form with the exception that it will have their name on it. But all of them are going to the same address. Also, Canon's website shows that they are running this rebate. So even though Newegg's name is on the form, it is not a Newegg rebate.

Both the instant rebate and the $400 maail in should work without incident. There is no way to "opt out" of the $100 instant rebate, even if you were nuts enough to want to. The code for $200 off is a Newegg deal. Everything it seems, should work as op posted.

Canon rebates are wonderful. I got a $50 rebate for the loyalty program and I did not even register. They send the check stating that they cannot find the entry but sending the check for being a canon customer.

hello guys. How to claim my canon instant rebate? I bought what op posted and was interested in this additional 100 instant rebate? BTW, what is the 40 instant rebate?

Instant rebate is already reflected in price thus the term instant

Thanks for your info.

Tax kills the deal for me, still cheaper to buy from other reputable online retailers.

Man, just got my paycheck and was ready to hop on this but the promo code expired. DEAD.

hi everyone, I just jumped into this deal but other friends now warn me that since I use this promotion code, I might be not qualified for bundle 400 rebate(that really kills the deal). From the previous topic, one friend said this promotion code is for lens only, so printer and 7d body bundle rebate is not affected. How may I verify if this promotion code is for lens? Can anyone give me any proof or disproof... Should I contact Newegg directly? I am afraid they will notice this situation and do something evil... I'd rather ask for your help here in forum... By the way, since this rebate is sent for Newegg, does it mean Newegg is the one who will offer the rebate check, or Canon?

Thanks in advance,

I purchased two 7D kits and received them both yesterday. I was disappointed to note that the packaging that contains the CDs and manuals had been cut on BOTH of them and the warranty cards were also missing from both of them. Did anyone else notice something similar?

i got CD and manual in hand now, but seems no warranty card... I think warranty is made from Canon, so just show your receipt with canon then they will cover it for you. BTW, it is not likely Canon camera has serious problem, warranty is just in case... Did you mean you bought two kits, but only one pack of CD and manual?

I called Canon after receiving the response below. Canon responded by saying that it was likely a grey market camera since the warranty card was removed. He said to work with Newegg.com to resolve the issue. If you ordered one, you'll notice a very small slit in the cellophane. He was familiar with Newegg.com and suggested I try to resolve it with them before addressing it with Canon USA corporate. He said that a company like that wouldn't want to jeopardize their Canon Authorized status over something like this and it may not be intentional. I've had nothing but outstanding service from Newegg.com for years. I'll give them a chance to rectify the issue. I just wanted others to have the heads up. If you need warranty work, you'll have trouble down the road.

To clarify, I purchased two 7D kits. BOTH were missing the Canon USA warranty card. Note that one reviewer on the product page also had the same issue. Since the bottom of the product page references Canon USA and the 7D Kit Link on the Newegg.com page references the product on Canon USA I'm quite frustrated IF this is indeed a grey market camera.

There are bigger issues if this is a grey market camera:

1) Canon will not honor warranty repair requests (traced by the serial number on the body and/or lens)

2) Our rebates for the combined purchase of the Pixma pro9000 printer may be invalidated.

Newegg.com gave the following response:

How did I do today?

Thank you,

That response from Newegg is ridiculous and seems to be written by someone who is clueless (or someone who hopes that you are). You are right pilot1 that you have to get the warranty card. It may or may not affect the rebate (if the camera is not grey market and someone swiped the cards, the serial number should be valid for the rebate - but that is a BIG "if") but it will definitely affect the warranty. Regardless, you are right to pursue this until it's resolved. Receiving 2 kits without the cards can hardly be a coincidence, so it seems to me Newegg has some 'splaining to do. FWIW, my kit had a warranty card for both the camera and the lens.
