If you click on your avatar, it will bring up your profile. Under your badges, you will see a link to "view all possible achievements." Looking on that page, I see the description for Spread the Word as being "Share a Hot Deal that receives a FatWallet visit."

I have posted several deals and gotten several visits and not gotten that badge. That is why I am confused.
The Quick Summary in this thread has explanations for earning pretty much any badge.

Mods, I can definitely tell you the "Spread the Word" badge isn't working for me either. I tested this with numerous email shares that received a FW visit. I even got my wife involved because several of the emails went to her. I watched her visit the FW deal. The URL she used contained the "sharedby=" parameter. Can you please look into this. Thanks!!
I second fatmark's statement. I got the first two a long time ago, and have consistently been sharing deals to no avail. Mods, can you look into this??

good points noted here how can FW monitor if one shares via FB, twitter, & email also, if the ppl you share deals with don't respond, then no badge the process needs to be revamped

Not quite it either.
The email link contains a little extra information that uniquely identifies who sent it. So all the email recipient has to do is click on the link, and you should get credit. I'm assuming FB and Twitter are the same (a click on the link is all that is necessary).
And obviously, "you should get credit" and "you will get credit" are not the same thing right now.

ok, I am really head scratching here. I used the links at the top of the forum to send an email to a friend, but they did not get the link to this forum in the email only the content of the forum. How do I get this badge ?

Thanks MVP. I used the link at the top of the forum to email my friend, he got the email about the forum but there was no link to actually get to fatwallet. However, when I logged in next I had the badge. If he did not get the link in the email, then how would I earn the "10 visits" or more badges ?

There actually IS a link, it's in the 2nd FatWallet logo. It's not obvious, and I'm not sure if that's a bug, or as designed, but I have submitted this to be looked into as a bug.
