You shouldn't see that every time you visit, unless you're crushing all cookies and logging out every time you leave the site. I'm pretty sure this is a test only intended for traffic coming from search.

FF automatically cleans everything out but I never have to search for FW, I use a bookmark.

Ah, gotcha. Using a bookmark, or coming directly to the site, you should have an option to just close that overlay. Is this not happening?

The "X"? It's there, but still. (adblock didn't work on it)
There is a log in form, at least for me. Click sign in, and it will take you to a log in page.

Well, it's right on the overlay, so yes, it is different, but will get you logged in either way.
