FW is a business. Therefore it is dependent on its customers paying their bills. I'm sure Tim would not be happy if Dell deadbeated on their advertising payments or if a FatCash merchant deadbeated on commission payments. I'm sure FW expects its accounts receivable to be paid in a timely manner. I'm really sure that Fat Wallet staff expects their paychecks to be delivered on time.
So how come every time a new poster comes along looking for a scheme to get out of paying for services legitimately rendered, FW staff protects them from being condemned for their actions? Any post legitimately attacking the OP is deleted by the mods.
Doesn't FW staff understand that coddling deadbeats is wrong from both a moral and business perspective? Forget the moral argument - don't you understand that deadbeats will not be good members for FW? I'd bet that the users you have the most trouble with (trying to scam FatCash, multiple trouble tickets, not reading the FatCash FAQs etc.) are users who don't have good bill payment history.
You say: Any post legitimately attacking the OP is deleted by the mods. The thread above is not about the morality of paying one's debts, it's about what to do when your bills have been turned over to a collection agency. Attacking the OP is off-topic and unnecessary.
If you don't have anything useful to add, just ignore the thread.
And I find it hard to believe there's a correlation between a user's debt and the number of trouble tickets they generate.
1) My question is directed at FW staff NOT you jayK 2) Your linked thread is one of a dozen I referring to. 3) Your linked thread is how to avoid paying for services rendered (or how to avoid negative consequences of not paying) 4) I believe there is a correlation between those that are trying to scam FatWallet and those that don't pay their bills.
So my question stands: WHY DOES FW STAFF CODDLE DEADBEATS?
sandybutt said:Why are you PMing the other guy calling him a deadbeat ? Why are you harrasing him? It's funny. Someone will post a link in OT and ask us to vote for them in some contest. The mods will jump all over that like the OP's worse than Hitler. Someone will post some scam to use a 50 cent off chicken coupon for pork instead, and they'll get incinerated. But someone posts about defrauding creditors and all of a sudden they're part of some untouchable, protected class?
Gee, maybe Tim should decide one week he has other priorities than paying his staff. Wonder how long the good feelings towards deadbeats will last?

Is it just me or do I hear the sound of a Black Hawk nearby...
i am currently in negotiations with Iran to purchase 100ct of stinger missles.
they weren't amused when i tried to PM to China.
Oh well, i'll just put it on my starwood card and use the miles to take a trip to the Congo.
Wait before you leave on your journey how much did they want for thoose missles? I might know a few fw members interested in resuming negotiations with them.

It's well-known that arms dealers generate more trouble tickets.

what about arms dealers w/ 2K in CB over the last 6 months?
I don't see the O/P of that thread as a scammer. He has a legitimate complaint about something that is a common problem to many people. His wife had a baby at the hospital and now they are getting reamed by medical bills.
I myself currently have a similar problem with this issue. I have 100% coverage for medical care, yet after taking my Son to the hospital, I'm suddenly getting bills from providers stating that the amount paid to them under my insurance does not cover the cost of their service.
Although these providers are working at the hospital, they deem themselves as independent contractors and after the service, you are being charged beyond the amount deemed appropriate for their services by the insurance company. Please note: at the time the service is rendered, you are not advised how much their service is costing you. Furthermore, the hospital does not send you any bills since the amount they receive in payment from the insurance company after deductions is the amount they accept.
Long story short, medical providers send in bills which are well above the amount that is deemed as reasonable billing by insurance companies, medicare, medicaid etc. and these doctors receive an amount for their services based upon a medical fee schedule. Why should a consumer have to pay inflated charges for medical care? I do not believe the O/P was scamming, but rather looking for relief from medical providers who based upon the information in the post, were over charging and forcing this poor guy into financial ruin. There by the grace of God goes I.
I don't agree with using FW for scamming, ripping off retailers by improper acts etc. but in some discussion boards, using other FWs advice in areas where they can help is what FW discussion boards is all about. Ex buying a car, mortgage, fixing credit, rebate issues & wearing contact lenses etc. Maybe I missed something since I only read the O/Ps post.
I don't feel sorry for doctors, hospitals or big businesses. Besides, there are much bigger problems facing the US. I could rattle on about politics for hours but I would like to keep my blood pressure down.
