One thing you could do:
1.) Keep green/red rating per post and per thread. 2.) Show red/green bar graph - so that people see the proportion of green to red. Meaning in one graph you would see both the green and the red. |

1) Bring back the red. 2) Allow users to notify mods of Red/Green abuse. 3) Take action to make Red/Green of abusers worthless.
I know not all users have their Red/Green votes counted, just apply that to the habitual abusers and we are good to go. Also, like another member said, perhaps ask and poll what new changes you plan to make BEFORE making them. |

I would like to thank all the mods for trying to make the site better for its users. However, if I have to make a choice between the 2 systems, I'll have to vote for the old one. Had too much 'green' today.. |

Maybe you could just re-install old system and then take suggestions for updating/refinement. |

Come on guys. He knows he's made a mistake. There's no need for these threats.
It's really not a threat. It's the fact. Look at how many people jumped ship to SD and you tell me whether it's a threat or not.

FYI, the ratings column is still displayed after you perform a search in a forum.

None; they will all be back viewing the forum and probably still are.
It all got a bit silly but it did show that the posters really do make the site. |

We need 2 of each, 2 greens and 2 reds, because some people rate post based of the "deal", and some people rate the post based on the "product" or the "vendor".
These are 2 mutually exclusive issues so need separate ratings.

My 2 cents: Bring back the RED and GREEN rating system and assign EQUAL WEIGHT to each vote. This way the community can help differentiate the goods and bads and reflect their preference. FW staffs should reserve the right to SUSPEND votes from specific members in case of abuse and misuse. Also consider to restrict votes from NEW MEMBERS to prevent someone from creating lots of accounts to abuse the voting system. |

I think posts should be calculated red or green per seniority a member with 10k posts would be able to add more green than some one who just signed up to post for junk. Just seems logical to me. |

Just penalize the +/- abusers on the old rating system by removing their voting rights. A question, why did some voters carry more weight than others on the older system? Basis for a +2,+3 ect? |

anybody who consistently reds a topic gets some built in slow-downs. tack on a 5 sec delay everytime they open a new thread or something annoying. |
