Every once in a while (it seems to vary from a few weeks to a few months) the "Would you recommend FW to a friend" scale pops up. The first time it happened, I gave a legit answer. Since then, I've been clicking any random number just to get it to disappear from the top of the screen. I'm glad to give you guys feedback, but if I don't click on a number, can you just assume my response hasn't changed and make the rating thing disappear?

Quick Summary is created and edited by users like you... Add FAQ's, Links and other Relevant Information by clicking the edit button in the lower right hand corner of this message.

Isn't there a box to click to get rid of the banner? If not, there should be (as FW is obviously capable of coding it).

Asking for trouble, aren't we? (How do you like us now? How 'bout now? Now? NOW??)

We've heard before that ratings drop on subsequent polls because folks get annoyed by it. Given other priorities, I can't promise changes in the next couple weeks... but we will definitely look into fine-tuning that thing.
Thanks for the feedback!

footn200, you're spot on.

I answered 8 or 9 the first 2-3 times but now I vote 1 or 2 because it's anooooooying.

I'd definitely place the priority far beneath fixing the "modern" view of the site, so I understand if there will be delays. But I did the same thing Ribex did. At first, I highly recommended the site. Then the banner kept appearing and the score reflected my annoyance with the banner rather than my feelings on the site.

Every time I see that banner, my answer drops by 1. Hopefully the next poll will include negative numbers, otherwise I won't be able to answer.

My ratings are a test of your ability to clean your data of erroneous and random answers. Are your people still convinced they get real data out of that thing? I'm pretty sure you're just using it as a random number generator in some script...

other thing is if cookies get cleared, it reappears! that may be the issue too.

the banner doesn't bother me,because of close button. I'm glad FW is interested if they are performing well for members.

Oddly enough, that test of their ability seems to have worked...I got a PM (I assume it was a mass PM) asking why I'd rated FW so erratically.

Not a mass PM. We are following up individually to see what matters to people and, yes, to better understand some patterns.

As it is now, if you stay logged in you wouldn't see it more than once a month. However, if you check in without logging in frequently, then your odds of seeing it increase (because we don't know who you are and that you've just seen it).

Look for possible changes this summer.

Frankly, even once a month is too often. Actually, I take that back- it's not too often if I can just close the bar and not give a response.

I got that PM, and I specifically said it was because you people constantly were asking that I went from honest ratings (high) to purposely putting in low ratings out of frustration. So what happened right after I PM'd my response, yep, the "Would you recommend FW" banner. I always stay logged in.

OK, beta is now Modern, and it's nearly 3 months since you gave this reply. Where's the button to close the banner?

Back in April we decided to continue the question through June. Despite the annoyance factor, it had shown over 15+ months to be a reasonable measure of how we're doing for you which is vitally important to us. Now, changing in the middle would wreck statistics... yeah, I know, "statistics."

It pains me personally to know it annoys any of our members and then see it continue as-is. Until it changes, I humbly request you give an honest rating based on your overall FatWallet experience, of which I hope that question is a very small part.

Please?

No honest answers until you give us a button to close the thing without answering.

Amen. Last time it popped up, you guys got a 3 or 4...not because I don't love the site, but because I don't love being constantly asked if I love the site. You're becoming like the clingy, needy girlfriend here.

I put low numbers too even though I love the site. I am skewing your stats due to this annoyance.

Frequency of our one-question survey has been reduced from monthly to quarterly for logged in members, and no longer shows at all when not logged in. Please let us know if you're experiencing anything different so we can correct it. Also, we're testing the ability to close the survey so you might or might not see that option. I must again humbly request you give an honest rating based on your overall FatWallet experience, of which I hope that question is only a small part.

Thanks
