I don't know how many times I've read the following in contest terms. Eligibility: Giveaway open to individual legal residents of the forty-eight contiguous United States and the District of Columbia, except Florida, New York, Rhode Island, and where otherwise prohibited by law. Since those of us in FL,NY,& RI are excluded so many times can you have a contest just for us? Even if you just give away a t-shirt or even a fatwallet sticker? |

A javascript popup box that says "load, unload, beforeunload, mousemove, mouseout, mouseover, select" appears when I click on a rating bar in FF 3.5 on WinXP. |

Are you running any kind of blocking script or extension Jay? And does it happen every time you try, or just the one time? I've tried to duplicate it, and haven't been able to. |

It doesn't seem to be happening today though. |

If it keeps happening, shoot me a PM and I'll see what I can do to figure it out. |

Can you please change the "New Member" under peoples name not solely based on post count but also perhaps how long he/she has been a member? I have seen many post given red because people assume that since the person is a "new member" it is either spam or the person is a troll or whatever. Perhaps you can by default change it to something else after a certain time period? Maybe a year, 6 months? Any other ideas? |

Seems silly to call someone who's been a member since 2001 a "new" member. |

I am for either, but I do think it would eliminate people always assuming a "new member" is someone that has just joined. |

Being a new member, the thing that would make my day would be the ability to start reading a thread at a certain date or go back a certain period of time (i.e. 6 months). Some of these threads have been around for a long time and you can only jump so many screens at a time (appears to be five). I guess the ability to "jump to page # (fill in the blank)" would also reduce the time to get to a reasonable perdiod back in time. |

Whenever someone starts a new thread, that person should have some kind of identification through out that thread. So everyone who visit that thread would know that he/she is the OP. For example, Mr.X stated a thread in FW Finance forum regarding his car accident. Few people replied and requested more info. Mr. X provides some more info. Whenever Mr. X post anything in that thread, there should be some sign besides his avatar saying that Mr. X is the OP of this thread. So people would know that OP has provided more info. and people don't have to remember the OP's name. In this thread, whenever "footn200" post something, there should be something by his avatar saying that he is the OP. |

How about a checkbox on the list of topics, then you can "Hide All" to get rid of multiple topics that you don't want to see the next time you log in. Clicking one by one is time consuming, and then you have to wait until the next thread is added to read the next new topic This way I could hide 5-6 posts at a time |

Don't want to be a "downer" just before Cyber Monday but is anyone out there concerned about the Senate Commerce Committee report that came out yesterday (November 17, 2009)? The report indicates that some of the "big-name" online retailers have been using customers' credit card information in a manner that, while not illegal, is quite immoral. It appears that, after your credit card info has been added for a purchase, a screen comes up asking if you'd be interested in purchasing some third party membership service. The screen appears before you have actually placed your actual order, and customers get confused. They check the more prominent "YES" button and the online retailer provides this third party with your credit card info for a service the customer did not intend to purchase. Here's more on story: http://www.webpronews.com/topnews/2009/11/18/big-retailers-took-792-million-for-sharing-credit-card-numbers While I am certain that most Fatwallet members are savvy online purchasers, I think it is something that we should all be alert to this season. I know that the online retailers are Fatwallet's bread and butter, but is there some way to create a list of the abusive retailers to assist shoppers???? If I am posting in wrong place, please advise ... I'm new at this. |
