I get hit with the repost checker A LOT. The problem is, about 95% of them (not an exaggeration...that would be my real estimate) are false positives of totally different stuff that I myself have posted. For example, if Newegg starts a new sale and I post 3 things from it, the 2nd post will report the first, and the 3rd post will report both of the previous two. Even if one is for RAM, one is for a tea kettle, and one is for a video game (or something like that). All have different links (well, aside from FW's auto generated links).
With that said, I did have it prevent me from reposting something once. Overall, it's a fantastic idea, especially if the algorithm could be improved.
I have a suggestion. Not sure how others will feel about this though. I have noticed SOOOO many lurkers who never ever post, but frequently give people RED. I think there should be a post requirement (maybe 50 posts minimum) before users can give RED. Just a thought...
Regular clickable FW thread links in posts & auto clickable URLs (eg) are fine, but clickable FW post specific links are generating the FW affilate 'bounce' redirect URL.
FYI: Not a big deal, but this creates unnecessary CPU overhead for FW.
What I'd love would be some sort of greasemonkey script or add-on that would calculate FatWallet Cash Back on the google shopping results page (and on results pages of other search engines too). Thus, when you search for a product in google shopping (or other shopping search engines), you'd see a column somewhere for how much Cash Back (or at least the %) you'd get at each store. Even better, sorting on the final price column with Cash Back figured in, and search on the Cash Back column only, would be fabulous.
-Visible, clickable links to the forums on fatwallet.com. It drives me nuts that I have to hover the pointer over Forums to be able to go access a link to Hot Deals. It wasn't always this way (thinking back over a year ago, probably), and it's especially annoying on a tablet.
-More than 7 Quick Links.
-A way to display our five favorite badges in any order, as opposed to just most recent first (the only option currently).
There is rarely anything in some sub-topic forums (ie: flowers), yet there is no "home improvement" sub-forum.
Also, I wish I could donate my CB to a charity....is there a way to throw up a list of charities that we can choose from? Just a "click-n-donate" thing? Maybe ask the charities to do some of the work of setting it up here, since it seems like it would be a big job? Maybe members could contact their favorite charities and tell them what you would need them to do to get their names here?
I read a good number of suggestions, but not all, so I don't know if these things were mentioned before.
1. It seems that the focus is on the threads in the Hot Deals forum. There are a multitude of badges that go with this. How about people who submit coupon codes? Often times it feels like creating an entire thread for one coupon code would be overkill, but there's really no incentive to submitting coupon codes past the first one which earns you the "coupon clipper" badge. I know we shouldn't be motivated solely by badges, but a little more recognition would be nice.
2. It would also be nice to be able to see how well a deal is doing, such as how many click-throughs and/or sales generated from a particular thread or front page Best Deal. I know you guys see this on the back-end, but some of us are also curious.
Add an "I'm in" button to the OP, so users can click it when they participate in the deal and make "I'm in" a checkbox on the search page so users can find all the deals they've participated in. That way, we can cut down on the "I'm in!" posts that clutter up a thread and make it easier to find deals that contain information that is useful well after the deal is over, such as rebate links, or technical information.

When you select "Cash Back" > "Cash Back Stores", it takes you to "Cash Back Stores: All" which is a really long list and takes forever to load on my older machine (this is the slowest area on the site as best I can tell). Suggest that it be changed to not display any list until one of the choices is made (0-9, A, B, ... Z, ALL), as this just takes too much time to load. Alternately, show the '0-9' or 'A' list instead of 'ALL' by default.
yesidonoitall said: Giving GREEN does not mean you bought one.Agree - my point was that if you are taking advantage of the deal, the "Thanks, OP" should be implied, to save space. Seems like a lot of times, there are more "Thanks, OP" posts than actual information, so having something specifically for this - above and beyond a red/yellow/green that indicates the "goodness" of a deal, makes sense.
How about adding a Blue status to indicate that you are taking advantage of the deal - on the OP only, and there could be a status like the red/yellow/green that says something like "32 members have jumped on this deal so far" when you hover over it (as long as you can hover over the bar and not have to hover just to the right of the bar as you do for red/yellow/green today - that's a separate issue that should be addressed). The bar could be in a similar location to the red/yellow/green bar - perhaps on the same row, or maybe somewhere in QS, though on the OP somewhere would be best for visibility.
Should using the Blue status automatically 'Green' the post to minimize additional clicking? I can see both sides of that discussion.
As long as it's clear that "Blue" is the way to also say "Thanks, OP", this could save some space in the topics (and time for users). I also think it would help to differentiate a Good Deal from a Good Deal that people are actually taking advantage of - and that is an important difference." Of course, it would also reduce the post count of lots of members.
One final thought: When the OP looks at the topic, they could have text displayed showing how many people have "Thanked them and taken advantage of their deal" on the top of the screen. That would be some positive feedback for the OP - perhaps more so than a long green bar...

Isn't it easier to just click "Cash Back" (which doesn't show the list) and navigate from there than hovering the cursor over "Cash Back" and selecting "Cash Back Stores"?

OK, good point, but still, unless someone WANTS the entire freaking list - by clicking on ALL, why display it by default?
Since both additional CB options and showing gratitude have been mentioned recently, I would like add that it would be cool to have a way to easily give CashBack to other members. For example, if someone just saved me $10, I'd kick back $1 as thanks. It would be completely optional, but a nice way to show appreciation when warranted.

I do not see FW getting involved in that for many obvious reasons. There is Paypal. PP cash can be sent so the recipient pays no fees.
Suggestion: I would love to see a flag or colored thread icon (anything), indicating threads I have posted to. I've seen it in other forums and have found it very convenient.
I agree, it helps the forum user save time and peruse through deals that they have not seen!
The replies column over on the right side is a good indicator to show whether you've read a thread or not. If you see "xx unread", that's telling you that you've opened the thread, and there were xx replies since you last viewed it. Clicking on that link will take you to the first unread message. I've attached a screenshot that shows you what I'm referring to.
Here's a suggestion: the contact form ( link ) shouldn't ask for name and email address. If I'm logged in, you already have those things available so why do I need to type them in?
DoctorDeals said: When editing text (full featured reply or QS), would it be possible to have more of the bold, italics, and underline boxes be clickable? It can get frustrating when I highlight a block of text to bold, and when I click well within the box, it does nothing except lose the text I highlighted because I was one pixel off of the B. Finding a way to expand the clickable region to the whole box (or even most of the box) would be great. Right now, I would guess about 50% of the area within the grey box for bold and underline is clickable. For italics, it's actually quite a bit less (guessing about 30%, although perhaps these numbers are just for my specific screen zoom?).
I hope there's a way to check all our posts. I'm not sure if there is something like that here. But this is something that will help the members communicate to each other.

One way is via the today forum. If you scroll down it lists the most recent threads you've posted in
How about adding a way to expand/close text sections within a single post? Could be handy for FAQ-style lists of stuff where you want the info available, just not taking up the space on screen all the time.
