Automatic parsing of web addresses in posts Archived From: FatWallet

I think this is my first time ever posting in this forum... there's really ever so little about FatWallet that needs fixing.

However (of course, you knew there would be a however.)

Can the posting engine be set up where any time there is text that looks like a URL in the post, it automagically converts it into a link?

Example:
http://shopping.yahoo.com/?name=woot#woot

becomes
http://shopping.yahoo.com/?name=woot#woot

My absolute #1 pet peeve is opening a post and finding out that the person hasn't correctly hyperlinked it.

Automatic link parsing would also solve http://shopping.yahoo.com/?name=woot#woot and this problem: Text or

For various reasons, automatic hyperlinks are not always desirable, so if this feature is implemented there should be a way to disable it.

Since FatWallet is in the Land of Linkin' (Lincoln), we really need to improve the process for you... make it easier to do what you want. But like jayK said, we likely won't force a linkinfication since it's not always desired.

I agree with OP. It is a long needed feature.

Example:
http://shopping.yahoo.com/?name=woot#woot

becomes
http://shopping.yahoo.com/?name=woot#woot

UNLESS it is explicitly [NOLINK]http://shopping.yahoo.com/?name=woot#woot[/NOLINK]

i am a million percent FOR autolinking

and have a checkbox below reply for enabling or disabling

The best way you could help with linking is to take out the automatic "http" and "https" in the link boxes.
